He’s running in 24.
The resident pubs here seem to think otherwise.

They’d rather he not be talked about. Must be buyer’s remorse.

I'm actually surprised they convinced him to cancel.

Massive buyer's remorse. I've never seen anything like it. For years during the Obama presidency Republicans always wanted to talk about Bush. They also still bring up Clinton, Bush Sr, Reagan and so on, but no one wants to talk about Trump.

I don't know that Trump could beat Desantis in a primary, given Trump is pro-vax and helped get the funding to create the vax quickly. He'll get attacked from, um, the right? Anti-vax is part of the right, right?

Trump's ego won't let him enter and lose, so until he gets a better idea of his chances to win the nomination he's going to keep his plans quiet i bet. I am guessing he wants to see how all these people he's endorsing do in their races.

Trump largely didn’t know what he was doing. It could’ve been, and still could be, much worse.

Someone with Trump’s mentality, but with actual experience and knowledge about the political/legislative process would be more dangerous.

Yeah, someone who got the kind of lockstep support Trump enjoyed, but who also actually knows what they’re doing, would be a lot scarier yet.

I wonder, though, how much of Trump’s appeal precisely was his ignorance?

Trump is trying to stop alienating center-right Repubs. Which is why he said he was boosted and why he's trying not to fan the flames of January 6th as much.

That said, it's too late. He lost their vote in 2020. He's not getting it back in 24...

The question is would they vote against him for the Dem like 2020 or just waste their vote.

I solely voted against trump in 2020. Wouldn't have mattered who else was on the ticket. Will people do that again? Or vote for neither of the 2 main picks like a lot of people did in 2016 when they hated both options (like i did).

Lol, no it isn't. He's pissed about not getting credit for the vaccine. It's always about him.

The likely scenario is that a lot of center-right folks won't even vote if Trump runs again.

Look on the brightside, maybe it'll help them realize that it was legit in 2020 if they see it's legit now?

It's not exactly easy to commit meaningful widespread fraud.

It doesn’t have to be “fraud” in the old-fashion definition of that word. The chief election officer could slow down the distribution of mail-in ballots that enough people don’t receive it in a timely manner. They could close polling places close to the concentration of voters belonging to the other party. There are proven ways to “legally” disenfranchise certain types of voting blocks. If you don’t believe it look at how Kemp beat Abrams in 2018. It’s a practice perfected by Jesse Helms and his henchmen from when before you were likely born!!
