i stand corrected
chalk it up to revisionist memory (or too much weed)
i thought Svi was a more consistent contributor

Svi's senior role is the one Och needs now.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 1:50 pm i stand corrected

Re: KU at kstate Official Game Thread
the sad part for me, is that i really like the personalities on this team...i’ve been in DMac’s, Och’s and CB’s corner from day 1
the team just hasn’t gelled the way i thought or hoped they would

It's a likable group. The hoops aren't beautiful, though.
Re: KU at kstate Official Game Thread
Och stands to be a five year starter...we ever had one of those?

And again, they’d be more likeable and win personality points if they had. more. ink.

I just don't see Och coming back. There are, of course, things he hasn't achieved, but I don't see that he's likely to get there. Mid 2nd round is a good spot for him and, really, a pretty good value for the team taking him. Don't see the iron getting hotter.
But, IIRC, it was a pretty huge shock that Svi returned for his Sr. season.

I think he comes back save some bad news from the ol NCAA.
Kansas kid, faded some as the season progressed.
He could play his way into the late 1st round next year.

Svi was a better shooter, ball-handler, and driver. He just wasn't asked to do as much because of the pieces around him.
Ochai is a better defender and a better leaper

I agree with you on the differences between the 2.
But, Svi was not drafted for his driving (nor will Och be) and the defense thing is a positive for Och, provided he can stay in front of NBA-fast guards.

Svi was also like 13 years old as a Junior.

Re: KU at kstate Official Game Thread
Actually is that listed anywhere?
I tried searching a bit but just found one site that described it as “plus wingspan.”
But yeah either way Svi’s a T. rex about it

Im with ya. Surprised me too. I always thought/and think Svi was underrated at KU. Perhaps Och is too. Difference being that Svi had Dtae and Malik and Dok. He didnt have to be option 1 or on every night.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 1:50 pm i stand corrected
