As I alluded to in my first post on this thread, many (most?) white people were quick to be skeptical from day 1. Many (most) black people tended to believe him. I wonder why. Actually, I don't wonder at all.

"Hate crime" is real. Too real. Meanwhile, it seems this "hate crime" was as fake as a 3 dollar bill.

I will tell you right now, shit goes down in this (Chicago) city because of what does or doesn't ultimately transpire from this - and Jussie Smollett is going to experience real "hatred" - the likes of nothing he could ever imagine. Honestly, I believed him 100% when it came out. I didn't do any investigating, probably just saw a meme ( ), but I really didn't think I had any reason not to believe the story.

Big difference between flat-out believing he was lying and being skeptical. I was very skeptical - but then again, I am a very skeptical person by nature.
From the beginning there were things that just didn't add up and of course "the media" was quick to report different things that were contradictory.
