I remember seeing that moment and wondering if it was really happening. I was worried the day before, and then we're kicking the shit out of a very talented UNC team.

"It's over!"
UNC makes a run to cut it to 4.
Then it was really over.

Sounds exactly like today's game IMO.

Except not.
Garbage teams, to me, are ones who wouldn't win a game in a 7 game series against the one great team.
If we think UVA was the best team, there'd be 30+ teams that would likely win one in a series.

Also, the fact that the first #1 seed evAr to lose to a 16 nevertheless won the title one year later tends to undermine the notion that only a few teams dominate.

That list is somewhat bullshit. The 2005 UNC team was better than their 2009 team.

I'd put UVa at the bottom of that list. I was at the Final 4 and I watched replays of the contested calls afterwards. They got help from the referees in BOTH of the final four games that definitely decided the outcome of the semifinal and quite probably helped decide the final. In my mind that championship will always have an asterisk beside it, because by all rights they shouldn't have even been playing in that game.

The point is that the CBB product these days is all garbage.
