You might not remember it, but that's exactly how football used to determine its champion.

I'm not saying hang a banner, but that's not meaningless. And in a year where no champion was crowned, it IS the closest thing. Like it or not.

I get that your sole purpose here is to be contrarian and piss in everyone's cheerios in an effort to make sure no KU fan who posts here has any fun, but that team was riding a 16 game winning streak, had been #1 in the poles for the final 4 weeks of the season, and were conference champs.

Imagine how Dayton and Florida State feel. Their best teams in decades and they didn't get a shot at the tournament either.

I think it sucks the tournament got cancelled due to covid. But I'd rather they did what they did (cancel it), rather than try to do it and then have half the teams forfeit due to exposures or positives and have an illegitimate champion. But i don't think we should declare ourselves national champions when we didn't win the national championship game. Don't see what purpose that serves.

We've had the discussion. We have a big area in the front of AFH where we can have a display to honor that team's unique season that got cut short. But you don't declare yourself national champion when the national championship wasn't played.

We ended the season number one overall which means we were the best in the country to end the season. And it wasnt close. So that's definitely an accomplishment and I wouldn't be opposed to displaying it somewhere in Allen.

We were the favorites. The "wasn't close" part is debatable. Vegas odds were fairly close for a handful of teams.
