I don't know how exactly the system works now, but I know that when I was at KU, there were a number of artificial hurdles to getting/using student tickets (so that Athletics could sell unclaimed tickets as GA).
What I'm saying is, I don't know if the issue is that students aren't showing up, or that the system does not actually work very well to ensure that, above all else, tickets get used.

With a good result today, we'll have beat two 1-4 seed types (Duke and Indiana) with the sort of guys (Filipowski and Jackson-Davis) we aren't really equipped to match up against. That would make me feel
pretty good about our chances.

A lot of our effectiveness against those types of guys has been because of the defensive rotation/helping ability of KM and DH. And because KJ is so damn fast and strong.

Then don't get them if you don't plan to go. There is no reason for tickets not to get used.
