Bird was incredible. I think people remember old, broken down, busted back Larry. Younger Larry was phenomenal.

If it is just "peak" performance/ability then I think Shaq could/should be higher on the list. He and Wilt are the 2 most physically dominant players ever.

Duncan was an elite defender ( 15 years of all defensive ).
He finished top 15 in points, rebounds (6th) and blocks (5th).

You might say, well he played a lot of games.

And I’d say, he was durable/tough and played a lot of games.

And again, he played in the golden age ( so far imo) of the NBA.

I was close.
I knew they'd overrate Russell for all the Celtics titles in an era lacking in median talent and competition.

10. Shaq
9. Kobe
8. Duncan
7. Bird
6. Wilt
5. Magic
4. Russell
3. Kareem
2. LeBron
1. MJ

I'd be OK with this list if they just swapped Wilt and Russell.

So difficult for me to rank players because some were simply physically dominant because of their size. Sure they were skilled but it would be really difficult for someone to convince me that Bill Russell was an all-around more skilled Basketball player than someone such as Magic or Kobe.

I generally don't get the discrediting size thing ( Russell and even Wilt I can see because they were big/athletic compared to everyone else ).
It happened with Dok - 'he's not as good as x player because he's big'.
There are humans that are going to be naturally gifted with peak athletic ability too - do we discount that too?

If you are judging players for skill, and not greatness, a lot of these guys wouldn't be in the top 10, including Wilt ( Russell would skyrocket outta the top 20 ).
LeBron would fall down the list some, Bird and Magic would jump, and guys like Oscar Robinson, Steph Curry, and Dirk Nowitski would crack the top 10.

If it's just skill, the list is:

Maravich
Cousey
That guy who can spin 21 basketballs at the dame time and rides a unicycle.
I only came to kick some ass...

Even old, broken down, busted back Larry shows how ridiculous he was. 20.2p/9.6r/6.8a with 46/40/92 split in his last season.

22 team restart..

Training Camp June 30th at team facilities. Travel to Orlando on July 7th. Likely will quarantine and then will start back up again.

Start play on July 31st. 3 different gyms. The Arena, HP FieldHouse and Visa Athletic Center.

Latest season would go is October 12th. Would be 74 days from start to finish.

Draft would happen October 15th and FA starts October 18th.

Next season will likely start Dec 1st with a potential full 82 game schedule. Unsure on if fans will be attendance for 2020-2021 season.

Hornets, Warriors, Cavs, Bulls, Knicks, Pistons, Hawks and T-Wolves are the 8 teams not participating. All those teams will be in the lottery for the draft that will happen on August 25th.
