Cronin described college basketball as a "free farm system for 40 years for the NBA" and touted its superior benefits for player development.

Thomas asked his like 3rd question since he joined the Supreme Court.

But yeah, they're getting destroyed.

The NCAA is going to get crushed. This is going so bad for them that they most likely are going to have to back off all the pending rules violations. Now saying this means that the NCAA has leadership that would be able to realize what the future holds for them. All the violations were created in market place that they created. All the violations will be against NCAA rules that are not going to exist anymore

Anyone know of a time where the hired family member sticks around beyond the related player's time at the school?

The over/under bested by the exacta--exactly as long as one NBA draft. I will whine again about how Allen and Kansas made the NCAA tournament into a financial blockbuster and we still can't get the block/charge calls.

I just can’t get past the hypocrisy. It’s fine for this family (and Mario’s and Danny’s, for clarity) to get substantial benefit off the kid’s talents, so long as you go through approved pay for play channels.

But meanwhile we’re in perpetual NCAA purgatory over a guy whose guardian or whatever got $20k and was cleared twice, and a guy who’s mom got $90k and that we willingly never played.

And then add on the Marvin Bagley-Billy Preston scenarios comparison.

Note that USC did not really fight this, even self-imposing sanctions, and still got smacked.

Fight on KU.

This was shocking actually. KU better fight. USC even more egregious than KUs case. It’s wild.

Smacked is a bit of a stretch. No ban, 2 year probation and assistant got show cause for 3 years. I’d argue that they got off somewhat ok.

Ah, I just assumed probation meant no postseason.

That's not disheartening news, though.
