Anyone know of a time where the hired family member sticks around beyond the related player's time at the school?jfish26 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 9:24 am Remind me why we pretend to care about this stuff?

The over/under bested by the exacta--exactly as long as one NBA draft. I will whine again about how Allen and Kansas made the NCAA tournament into a financial blockbuster and we still can't get the block/charge calls.jfish26 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 9:24 am Remind me why we pretend to care about this stuff?

I just can’t get past the hypocrisy. It’s fine for this family (and Mario’s and Danny’s, for clarity) to get substantial benefit off the kid’s talents, so long as you go through approved pay for play channels.InfiniteJ wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 11:07 amAnyone know of a time where the hired family member sticks around beyond the related player's time at the school?jfish26 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 9:24 am Remind me why we pretend to care about this stuff?

And then add on the Marvin Bagley-Billy Preston scenarios comparison.jfish26 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 11:16 amI just can’t get past the hypocrisy. But meanwhile we’re in perpetual NCAA purgatory over a guy whose guardian or whatever got $20k and was cleared twice, and a guy who’s mom got $90k and that we willingly never played.
Smacked is a bit of a stretch. No ban, 2 year probation and assistant got show cause for 3 years. I’d argue that they got off somewhat ok.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 11:43 am Note that USC did not really fight this, even self-imposing sanctions, and still got smacked.
Fight on KU.
Ah, I just assumed probation meant no postseason.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 11:46 amSmacked is a bit of a stretch. No ban, 2 year probation and assistant got show cause for 3 years.
