One of the greatest games i've ever seen vs one of the greatest games i've ever seen.
KU takes the edge here, for sure, largely because KU was in the title game and the Chiefs were in a Divisional game.

The other two games on the list shouldn't even be there.

Chiefs win.
Just because the NFL is more popular.

I don't know if that's the only reason but you are 100% correct that the NFL is more popular - in regards to TV viewership.

From what I read.....

The audience for Bills-Chiefs peaked with 51.697 million viewers.

The Kansas/UNC game delivered an average of 18.1 million viewers.

It was one of the greatest NFL games I’ve seen and I guess, for points scored in a certain amount of time, it may have never been done.

But for sure never been done:
Coming back 16 down in an NCAA tourney title game.

First playoff game in NFL history with three go-ahead touchdowns scored in the final two minutes of regulation and that doesn't count Kelce's OT game winner.

First time in NFL history that opposing quarterbacks each passed for 300 or more yards, three or more touchdowns, and rushed for 50 or more yards without throwing an interception.

The 25 points scored in the last two minutes of regulation was the most ever in in any NFL playoff game.

Truly the wildest ending to a playoff game in NFL history.

So I am gathering from this that Chiefs/Bills won over the National Championship game?

I am surprised that ESPN didn't go with UNC/Duke. I hate duke and the way ESPN contrives the national importance of the rivalry, but I would have voted for that game hands down. It really was a special and great game.

If that Chiefs game was in the Super Bowl, it'd may have locked in GOAT.
Duke UNC was in the Final Four and while it was close at the end, with a number of lead changes, there was no history made in the game itself.
Kansas UNC made history.

Duke losing meant that, by rule, ESPN couldn't even nominate the game.

That's probably not a bad point.

History: ratface loses last game.
ESPN: Look over there! Conference stuff.

Can you imagine what the offseason would have been if Duke had won the title? I would have had to block ESPN from my cable box for the summer.

Weird. ESPN barely covers CBB. Especially after the NBA draft.

Incorrect.
But correct that they don't cover CBB in the summer.
When CBB season started back up, it'd be endless Duke and K clips.

Now it'll just be a moderate amount.

I think ESPN will shut up about Scheyer and Dook pretty quick if they aren't winning games.

But, every game he does win will be celebrated as surefire proof he's the second coming of Ratface.

That's why it would be nice to rattle off another title in the next 2-3 seasons. Self and KU would be the unquestioned King of Kings in cbb then.

KU: *rattles off another natty*

ESPN: "Dook's Sweet 16 run a promising start to the Scheyer era"

I've never really felt like KU got shorted in the "love and coverage" department by ESPN.

Yeah that seems pretty inevitable. A Scheyer Final Four is going to get more run from them than another Kansas title. Narrative would be about Duke being here to stay, the brand, recruiting, NYC, blah blah blah.

It's pretty crazy to think how much run K and Cal got after Cal went to Kentucky and they were killing hte recruiting trail. Recall there being so much made about Kentucky being back after the 2011 Final Four (and hell, that was kind of true).

But, meanwhile, in that same era, Roy was dominating the ACC. And then winning titles. OAD is not a great formula for team success.

That is undeniably true. They also lost the face of their program's history this offseason, so questions surrounding that transition are valid, imho.

Otherwise, hope you are having a great Friday MICH.
