The Self leaving rumors are a lot more prevalent than posters speculating and hoping Vick has a mental condition to hide behind. A lot less cringe-y, too.

I wouldn't be surprised if Self leaves.. Wouldn't be surprised if he stays..

Although, I think I did see something interesting regarding season tickets for basketball. Can lock in price and seat location for the next 2 years. Before, I think, you could lock in a price, but your seat could move. But then again, I'm not 100% sure.. Kind of like what they did with the football pricing.

Makes you wonder if KU has a feeling Self might be gone, so they are trying to make sure tickets stay sold and seats will be filled no matter who is hired.

If he has a feeling the program is going to get hit hard, I think it'd be a stain on his legacy to leave us and his replacement with that mess, no matter how he feels about the NCAA.

If he's just leaving because he's tired of the shitshow and doesn't think KU will get penalized, I get it, it'd be a major bummer.

I can certainly understand from Bill's position why he'd leave and why the rumors have been swirling for the last month or so.

But, I just don't think Bill would leave without a fight. Unless it's only a losing battle, and perhaps it is.

Also depends on the NBA job (if that's the exit). Not every NBA job is equal.

I think he'd only leave for a handful of jobs, if that.

Spurs and Thunder for sure at top of his list.

We survived HCRW departure. We will survive HCBS departure just fine.

KANSAS is bigger than HCBS.

I think NBA is only exit. I don't think he would ever leave for another NCAA job.

Oh hell no he wouldn't. He's sick and tired of the NCAA, not Kansas.

Right. I think the exit options are (1) leave for the NBA, or (2) leave for golf and cocktails (and perhaps a cushy TV job).

Bill as color analyst. "Anduymm, that was a petty good shot from the uhhh and uhhh um corner there, dick"

Bill's a lot better speaker when he's not worried as hell that his statements are going to get him into legal trouble.

Well - jokes aside, it wouldn't be tough for him to get coached up enough for a studio show. He won't be doing games or anything like that.

I have to agree but let's be honest, it's an assumption based on ties and geography.
I happen top think the Lakers gig would be a challenging one but could be very rewarding until The King retires.
Wonder if the Kings might be looking for a new head coach.

I think Bill would love the hell out of coaching LeBron the basketball player.

I would personally hope he's wise enough to understand you're getting a lot more than that with the gig.

I would hate for HCBS to move on from KANSAS at this moment in time. Hate it.

But if he did, there is a fantastic group of more than qualified replacements at our disposal.

Well, whether it's this offseason or a different one, there's a reckoning coming for KU fans. The success of the last 15 years is not normal. The next guy could be fantastic, and we could not miss a beat as a perennially-good team...and we still might win at something like 80% of the clip as it's been over the last 15 years.
