NBA 2020/2021
Re: NBA 2020/2021
I just find it ironic that Cascadia, who has one of the shortest fuses and most aggressive patterns of personal attacks on here, thinks Westbrook is a snowflake for having a short fuse and responding aggressively.
Thinking about it more, it does seem to be a pattern that short fused people demand that everyone else have fuses longer than should be expected. They just don't like to face unpleasant consequences for their own short fuses, I suppose.

Re: NBA 2020/2021
Glad Embiid and the Sixers are handling their business easily so far. I really want to see them meet up with the Nets in the ECF.
Re: NBA 2020/2021
How bad is Harris' ankle?
Obviously health/injuries are going to play a role for all the teams. If miraculously every player on every team stays healthy, I am guessing the 76ers are going to make the Eastern Finals and play the Nets.
In the West, wtf knows? I suppose I feel the Lakers will be playing the Jazz.

Re: NBA 2020/2021
If the Sixers can sweep Washington and get him some rest then that would be optimal. Sounds like he returned to the game after the injury so hopefully he doesn't wake up with a bunch of swelling this morning.MJ23 wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 8:56 am How bad is Harris' ankle?

Re: NBA 2020/2021
I think the fan who threw the popcorn should be banned from every stadium in the league, but yeah, in the end it is popcorn. Far more concerned about what Westbrook and many others say they hear from racist fans in Utah and elsewhere.
"So, which one of these topics are conspiracy?
1 .911 was done by Israel: okay, if you think that one is conspiracy, I'll just leave that one alone."

Re: NBA 2020/2021
I agree but then there are people who will say, who cares? They're just words.
Re: NBA 2020/2021
Water does not equal popcorn
My job does not equal $41,358,814 a year entertainer.
If you would like to fix those two false equivalencies and rephrase your question, I would be happy to offer a response.
Re: NBA 2020/2021
Ah, so the more money you make, the less it is required to be treated with respect. Got it.
I don't need to fix anything, you answered my question.

Re: NBA 2020/2021
of course the person that poured the popcorn should/will be banned for life.
it's 2021 so of course this will be completely overblown and over exaggerated.

Re: NBA 2020/2021
If the fan violated the terms of agreement on his ticket then he will receive the defined punishment that he no doubt didn't think of when his lack of impulse control and common decency led him to act like a childish dip shit. Not a big deal.
On to Game 3.

Re: NBA 2020/2021
Or it will more likely be talked about for about an hour or two today and then will get tossed to the wayside by whatever stories come out of the games this evening.

If a coworker poured popcorn on you at work and you reacted in a violent manner, which one of you is more likely to be fired?twocoach wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 9:53 amAh, so the more money you make, the less it is required to be treated with respect. Got it.

Some of you are more psychotic than gutter and more intellectually dishonest than lobby.
Lifetime ban for popcorn? Jesus Christ, what's next, death penalty for jay walking?

Re: NBA 2020/2021
if that happened in an nhl arena the player would stop and give the fan an autograph.
you lose a soccer game in brazil the fans will throw a road flare at you.

Re: NBA 2020/2021
I am not a naturally aggressive person so I wouldn't respond aggressively to anything other than a physical confrontation towards myself or a physical threat towards a coworker.Cascadia wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 9:59 amIf a coworker poured popcorn on you at work and you reacted in a violent manner, which one of you is more likely to be fired?
Re: NBA 2020/2021
I don't think popcorn should ever be moved up to some sort of legal charge, which I would not be surprised if it ever has, but if you're willing to act like that in a game, you don't get to come back.
But also, for 41 million a year, i'd take a popcorn bath every night.

Re: NBA 2020/2021
Nice attempt to dodge, but you're just admitting that the aggressive response to popcorn would be punished more severely than that act of pouring popcorn.twocoach wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 10:04 amI am not a naturally aggressive person so I wouldn't respond aggressively to anything other than a physical confrontation towards myself or a physical threat towards a coworker.
Thanks for the tantrum on this topic though, we all appreciate it.
Re: NBA 2020/2021
If someone dumped stuff on me at work and I did what Westbrook did and yelled and pointed some (because really, that's all he did in response), I doubt I would get the more severe punishment.Cascadia wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 10:06 amNice attempt to dodge, but you're just admitting that the aggressive response to popcorn would be punished more severely than that act of pouring popcorn.

Westbrook has very little opportunity to actually physically confront that fan since they are fully separated. The worst he could do is yell and point at him without climbing the railings and entering the stands. I don't have an issue with him being heated about it and complaining. People these days seem to think that making a ton of money means that you should be required to deal with a ton of extra bullshit that people would never do to a person making regular money.
Re: NBA 2020/2021
Knicks fan banned. Spitting is worse than popcorn. Right?
