In retrospect some jokes on air about how his brother is a ladies man or at least thinks he is. The optics aren't great when you've had an on air personality talking about how great his brother is and now he's been accused of bad shit by multiple people.

Oh wow. I didn't know it was that deep.

I just watch Cuomo a lot at night, and looking back on all the times he had his brother on, some of the back and forth joking and teasing looks really bad now.

"That deep"? He talked to his brother on the phone and gave him advice. Why is that something that he should face punishment for from his employer?

I don't watch Cuomo or any of the other talking head opinion pieces on CNN so I don't know what he said on air about the situation. But his show is an opinion piece show, not a reporting the news show so the expectation of objectivity on anything discussed on an opinion show is dumb.

Get rid of Gov. Cuomo. As for his brother? Calling for his head is dumb. The people doing it are likely those that hypocritically whine about Cancel Culture.

DOA suspends all logging in Tongass Nat’l Forest...largest intact temperate rainforest in the world (SE Alaska)

not sure how i feel about this. looks good on the surface, but selective logging is what helps reduce wildfire size and damage, as well as protecting from things like bark beetles

i will say this though, if you ever get the chance to visit this part of Alaska, do it...phenomenal ecosystem

and that’s the thing...”we” know how to mitigate or prevent catastrophic fires like we’ve been seeing. it isn’t new info either. drive around the country, or even a given state, and look at the different management practices being employed. USFS, NPS, BLM and state agencies all do it differently

it’s a weird, convoluted situation in most places, where there are multiple entities looking after the same relative stretch of land

in the Black Hills, you’ve got 1) Custer State Park, 2) the Black Hills and Galena Nat’l Forests (USFS), and 3) Mt. Rushmore (NPS)

i’d argue that the state does the best job in that instance. there is a ton of investment in thinning and clearing undergrowth. but, there is also greater incentive because the state park is such a huge tourist draw.

i’m not familiar enough with your area, but my suspicion is that you’ve mostly got national forests, yes?

Our forests arent managed at all.

Although....i recently saw an opportunity that im going to try and get an endorsement on my license to apply for where they are looking for private contractors to clear culverts and thin areas within 50 yards of the service roads. Would be a sweet gig.
