It's going to suck. We're going to see, probably here and certainly elsewhere, a rubegasm centered around stupid-but-clever-sounding gotchas.

Compelling potential story line.....

Tucker Carlson's plane mysteriously exploded after leaving Moscow today. Vlad claims it was either Ukrainian Nazis or Joe Biden; or both. Trumplethinskin agrees. MTG demanding a full investigation. Project Veritas has secretly recorded videos proving it.

The subsequent release of the "interview" feeds the Putin storyline.

Tucky should be careful. Putin's "friends" disappear a lot.

Even useful idiots have a shelf life. The Rubepublican party is firmly in Putin's camp with Trumpty demanding that, since he is on his payroll. Putin doesn't need more mouthpieces. The rubes need to be riled up to create more chaos before the election.

Is Tucky more valuable to Putin as a non-platformed mouthpiece, or as a martyr?

Ugh, and that’s WITHOUT taking into account the Cult of Elon side of things.

Here is a great early example of the form (the tweet in question being commentary on the suggestion that the EU might restrict Tucker’s travel as a consequence of his Putin dalliance):

https://x.com/edkrassen/status/17552596 ... q_-8Yt1KMA
Even your worst enemies deserve free speech. Even your biggest critics deserve free speech. Even the most biased journalists deserve the free press.

I don’t agree with Tucker Carlson. I prefer that he didn’t interview Putin, but that doesn’t warrant prohibiting him from having a voice. If it happens to him it can happen to anyone.
This is mealy-mouthed nonsense.

Specifically:

1 - No, our "worst enemies" do not necessarily deserve free speech. Among other things, "free speech" is something that is protected for those who are otherwise subject to our laws, starting with the home of free speech protections (being our Constitution).

2 - What does "the most biased journalists deserve the free press" even mean?

3 - Just to be clear, Carlson (though his then-employer Fox) has argued in litigation that he is NOT a credible journalist - that he is not stating actual facts and instead engages in "exaggeration" and "non-literal commentary."

4 - Saying this "can happen to anyone" is obviously false; please ask Evan Gershkovich whether it is common practice for actual journalists to be in this situation in the first place. This "can happen to anyone" batshittery is like Trump saying if they can jail HIM for stealing nuclear secrets, it can happen to YOU.

Carlson can "have a voice" all he wants I guess. But FUCK RIGHT OFF with the notion that what he is doing is somehow brave or even well-meaning. It is neither of those things. And fuck Elon with a cybertruck for platforming this hateful, harmful garbage.

The thing about enemies is that they try to destroy you and your family. Exploiting free speech to sow division.

The media says we're supposed to hate Russia, so you all just fall in line.

The interview was actually very refreshing. We would be much better off with Putin as our president than the brain dead Biden.

...what interview would that be? The one that has not been released, that Russian state media (relying on WSJ sources) says will air on Thursday?

You find a leaked advance copy on RubeTube?

It certainly cannot be the case that you are jumping the gun to defend something you have not yet seen (because it has not yet been aired).

You post a lot of dumb things but this may be your crowning achievement here. Congrats on praising an interview that you have not seen yet because it hasn't been aired. We appreciate you confirming your status as no more than an ignorant troll.

You know, all it takes is a Google search. You can read it here:

I am not sure I have ever seen a transcript of an interview be presented "in no particular order."

In any case, if what this person has posted is real, then it is what I said it would be: stupid-but-clever-sounding gotchas for the amplification chamber.

If that transcript is real, Ousdahl's gonna love this line,

"Did we invade or were we invaded?"

Ah, so a random crypto guy who has also posted an alleged video of Angelina Jolie discussing her initiation into the Order of Illuminati happens to have a full transcript of a not-yet-released interview with the Russian President. Seems totally legit...

You really are a moron.

A full transcript that is presented "in no particular order."

It could be real. But that's not something a normal person would normally do.

Tucker is an attention-seeking narcissist with values that are malleable at best.

In my estimation, that does not distinguish him from the rest of our media.

What's not to love? The criminal hierarchy that forms its economy, sown with murders and extortion? The invasion of democracies for funsies and mass killing? The killing of political rivals and jailing of journalists? The long falls out of windows? The nuclear mismanagement? The empowerment of crazies like Iran and North Korea?
