Right.

The Detriot storyline would include a showdown with Stafford...so that worked out pretty well.

Vrabel out.
Too bad, liked the dude.
Tennessee has it's work cut out for it...maybe they'd be willing to part from DeAndre Hopkins?

Pete Carroll out as coach at Seattle!!!
That's big news and kinda sad ( and also i'm not certain if it's the right move unless he was also feeling like he needed to step down ).
Not sure if they are going to better than just above .500 with Geno Smith.

Pete 100% wanted to be the coach of Seattle next year. Basically forced to step away which only makes sense if they have someone in mind like Dan Quinn, but do not see someone doing better with what they have.

Still waiting on NE, what a mess.

Bill is out.

Bill to ATL, Carroll to Oregon, Harbaugh to WAS, Saban to CAR?

I think Saban will just retire and spend his days golfing.

I don't expect Saban to keep coaching. He's 72 and wants to hang out with grandkids from what it sounds like. I'd go to Washington if I was Belichick. They have an energized new ownership team, three picks in the Top 40 including #2 overall and the most cap space of any team in the NFL and the NFC is a much easier path to the wildcard. I think Harbaugh goes to the Chargers or Raiders. Seattle might be a good fit for Harbaugh as well as they aren't in cap hell like the Chargers.

I'm going Falcons if I'm Bill.
NFC South is not competitive.
Falcons have a decent amount of cap space and a decent amount of picks ( all the normal picks plus an extra 4th and 6th ).

Defense is already there - offensive skill players already there - the only thing missing is your QB.

I'd wait Denver out and sign Russell Wilson on the cheap and then try to land Mike Evans or Tee Higgins. Then draft DLine.

Russ Wilson. Drake London. Tee Higgins. Kyle Pitts. Bijan.
Up and coming defense led by defensive mastermind Bill.
That wins you the NFC South.

Chargers would also be a good pick because of Herbert and defensive pieces but you're also in some cap trouble and in the Chiefs division.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Russell Wilson for sure. Rumors are they release him prior to the start of the new NFL year, which begins on March 13th. Good point about the defense, though. I hadn't realized how good the ATL defense was or how bad the WAS defense was. With Belichick's skill on that side of the ball, that might be a very attractive spot for him, especially in that shitty division.

Bill Belichick is 71 years old. He will be 72 before the next NFL season starts.

I think there is a decent chance he wants to be done coaching.

I don't think the chance is decent.
I think he coaches somewhere and has already had conversations with teams.

If so, then why not try to trade him to another organization?

Out of respect for him I guess?

Bill supposedly was not open to a trade.
A. He wanted to be paid out by the Pats - i'm sure he'll get at least some of what they owe him.
B. You're hurting the organization you're going to. He wouldn't want to do that.

I personally can't comprehend why a mid 70s guy with tons of money would want to move somewhere new and rebuild a team into his mid-upper 70s. All in hopes of winning another SB? Or just because he loves coaching?

I guess if he ended up immediately on a SB contender then it'd make sense to me. But ATL would not make sense to me.

some dudes are just so driven. they just can't stop. they don't know how. i am not like that.

his legacy is set in stone. so he can't really tarnish it.

he will likely drop dead on the sideline. or in his coaches office looking at film.
