A 1 seed would likely mean we would need to tie for the B12 lead.

Dunno bout that now.
We have away games to Texas Tech, OU, Baylor and Houston.

KU played the 4 worst Big 12 teams on the road and lost to 3 of them. Woof.

Every team that steps on the floor has "a chance to win". It's insane that KU can play like they did Saturday and then like this two days later.
It's not insane. It's entirely predictable. Less than 2 days since a huge win at home and gameday coming Saturday.

I would have been shocked if we blew KState out in their super bowl..

We also had about 5 shots rim in and out in the most brutal of fashion..about a half dozen incredibly shitty calls...KM play his worst game of the year. Furphy be a complete non factor.

Obviously. I mean every game is close, we can clearly beat top teams, but play down to shit competition.

UConn was down a guy.

And lost to ksu, UCF, WVU, ISU and are looking like a 3 seed currently.
I think we'll be a 1 or 2 seed.
I think we'll go into the ncaa tourney with 9 losses.
Loser talk.

LOL

I love the negativity after a loss. Cracks me up.

4 more.
I could see it.
At OU or Tech.
At Baylor.
At Houston.
Loose in B12 tourney.

I’ll say we loose 3 more.
24-8 or something like that.
That’s not a 1 seed.

Not with UConn, UNC, Purdue, Zona, Houston and the SEC winner.

We can beat Baylor @ Baylor.

Houston @ Houston will be tough.

We can beat TT @ TT.

I think we'll lose one or two more games before the big 12 tournament. We are actually playing pretty well right now all things considered. It's just not going to be a perfect team. We have 4.5 players.

Ok, so that’s a problem.

All of those teams other than Uconn will likely lose a couple more too.

Sure, we “could” beat them.
Maybe even should.
But we shoulda beaten ksu, UCF and WVU.

I still think this squad has a higher ceiling than teams like 19, 21 and 23.

I think our shot at a 1 seed is maybe 2 percent. It’ll be tough even to get a 2.
We will drop out of the top 10 in NET tomorrow.

But if we can take this absolutely trash game and go on a run beating OU and Baylor and Tech on the road, there’s definitely still hope in the tournament.

It’s just not your 16s, 17s, 18s, 20s. Those teams were serious contenders. And yes they lost but doesn’t change a thing.

I think UConn is better than KU.

I think Purdue is better than KU.

And that's probably it.

How do you feel about Northwestern? I'm asking because Northwestern beat Purdue the first time they played and was up 81-80 on Purdue with 37 seconds left in the game the second time they played. Purdue shot 46 free throws in that game. Northwestern shot 8.

How's this?
I think when other teams play their A game and KU is plays their C or worse game - I think there are at least 25 if not 40 teams better than KU.
When KU is playing their A game and any/every other team isn't - there are no teams better than KU.
Problem is I don't think we can see 6 consecutive A games from this team - against other good teams.
I hope they prove me wrong.

“ Problem is I don't think we can see 6 consecutive A games from this team - against other good teams.”

Right.
Elite teams find ways to win in games like last night where you don’t have it. And to be sure this is a bad ksu team - they had lost 4 in a row, three blowouts and the other v Bryce Thompsonless OSU team last Saturday.

We haven’t had a “welp any won on the road is a good one” yet.

We have 8 regular season games left and 4 of them are on the road to teams all better than ksu.

We have done that this year, we just didn't do it last night. Even elite teams lose. And elite is relative to a given year and this year KU is as elite as anyone not named UConn/Purdue.

Maybe I am wrong, but it sure feels like you're hell bent on being negative about this team because you hate NIL and don't like HD.

KState was a desperate team last night, in essentially a must win game (for them), in what appeared to be a great home atmosphere.

The calls went their way.

The bounces went their way.

And we only had 4 players show up to play, Furphy was a total no show. KM played his worst game of the year. Kj played probably his worst game of the year too.

I think how this team has played against the top teams is more indicative of the type of team we will see in March/April....but this team is in a bad spot with the KU fanbase it feels like. It's pretty much national championship or bust.

If I were Self and he and the players really aren't that concerned with winning the league race, then I'd consider resting KM in a game or two (or any of the big 4 who are injured) to let him heal up before the big12 tournament and NCAA tournament.

I think the big12 tournament is more important than the regular season chase this year with uneven schedules.

And you seem hell bent on being positive about yet another loss away from AFH to a team that won't make the tourney.
