I'm wondering if you would you tell the families of those who you feel didn't "survive" (the vaccine) that you're truly sorry their loved ones died - or would you just tell them that you would have told their dumb ass loved ones not to get the vaccine and they should have known better based on Youtube videos you have posted on crimson.com?

covid-negative, fortunately

catching up on emails, and there’s a company-wide one about covid

our director of risk-management (based in the UK) just got the astra zeneca vaccine and provided his own justification: 1) there is no identified physiological mechanism of action from vaccine to blood clots (thrombosis); and 2) there were no thrombotic adverse events during the AZ clinical trials

he goes on to reiterate what has been posted here, that thrombosis occurs in a population regardless of the vaccine, and that one would expect, on chance alone, that 0.001% of the population would get thrombosis. the UK has administered roughly 11,000,000 vaccine doses this year. in the UK alone, you would expect just under 1,000 thrombotic events. there have been a total of 37 cases reported across ALL COUNTRIES.

if you’re being lazy and scientifically illiterate, then you should be compelled by these numbers to take the vaccine, because at face value it actually looks like it decreases your chance of a thrombotic incident

My mom got her 2nd Moderna shot yesterday. Didn't sleep well, headache, body aches, lack of energy.

To be expected?

My dad has had both doses of the Pfizer and didn't have any side effects...

Means it's working.

I have heard, though, that the Moderna one tends to have a rougher second shot.

Some more good news. Numbers would be higher if it weren't for the anti-vaxxers.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/202 ... -residents
After the rollout of Covid vaccines, the number of new Covid cases among nursing home staff fell 83% – from 28,802 for the week ending 20 December to 4,764 for the week ending 14 February,
New Covid-19 infections among nursing home residents fell even more steeply, by 89%, in that period, compared with 58% in the general public
These numbers suggest that “the vaccine appears to be having a dramatic effect on reducing cases, which is extremely encouraging,”
After a brutal year in which the pandemic killed half a million Americans, despite unprecedented measures to curb its spread – including mask-wearing, physical distancing, school closures and economic shutdowns – the vaccines are giving hope that an end is in sight.
Yet the vaccination rate among staffers is far lower than that of residents. When the first clinics ran from mid-December to mid-January, a median of 78% of nursing home residents took a dose, while the median for staff was only 38%, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Low vaccine uptake among long-term care workers has been a concern nationally – so much so that LeadingAge, a national group representing not-for-profit long-term care facilities, held a virtual town hall about vaccine safety on 4 March with the Black Coalition Against Covid-19.

The event, which drew over 45,000 viewers, was geared toward Black long-term care workers.

Dr Reed Tuckson, co-founder of the Black Coalition Against Covid-19, said viewers raised concerns about fertility, pregnancy and contraindications. He said the event also had “a lot of provocateurs” who insisted, “it’s all a myth, it’s all a lie.”

His group plans to hold more public informational sessions aimed at Black audiences.

“There is no question that the three vaccines that we now have available to us are extraordinarily safe and tremendously effective,” said Tuckson, a former public health commissioner in Washington.

Have read and also a pharmacist friend confirmed that anecdotes are piling up about side effects for former positives are worse after the first. And for those who never had it, it’s worse on the 2nd. May have already been posted here.

My own anecdote would fall in line with that, but still haven’t received poke #2.

Yep been around a while. That doesn't mean it's a reputable source.
