I can't imagine you pull the trigger on this deal if you're not reasonably confident that you'll get to agreement on a contract.

I didn't even think about tagging him. So in theory, you can get at least two years for $19mm total ($3mm this year, estimate $16mm next year) and if you get that longterm deal, you basically drafted a top 4 tackle at 24 with the 31st pick. I'm going back and forth on this in my head, but I think this works out well for the Chiefs.

According to trade math, they got Brown for about the 38th pick in the draft. That'll play.

Clark was signed for the SB play-off runs. Worked out pretty well IMHO. This will too if he stays healthy.

He can be fine and still be the worst contract on the team.

I hear you, but man did he play well in 2019 when we needed it. Reminds me of the Royals in 2015 overpaying for some pitching.

So another year without a first rounder.
And we loose a third.

But this year makes more sense than the overpay for Clark.
And gain a second next year.

So....what do we do for WR?
DRob and Pringle?

I mean, salary cap vs. no salary cap is much different.

I am still kinda stunned that the Chiefs were able to get this guy from the Ravens.

Vega: the Chiefs don’t overpay though. Everyone points at Clark as the exception and I agree, except he paid for himself the last few games of 19. I would also point to the Ravens having to keep an older injured LT and give their rivals a the better player. Almost $100M guaranteed I guess.

If the goal was just to get one Super Bowl at any cost, and that’s a reasonable goal, then the Clark signing was a good one, because you can argue every signing was a good one. We won.

But we could have drafted Collier like the Seahawks did with our pick and likely better off for those five years ( 2020-24 ).

You want size at WR at a pick that might be around the end of the 2nd, there's Nico Collins, 6'4 out of Michigan.

I'm torn on whether I want him at the Raiders or Broncos - reason being, let's say he goes on a decline earlier than expected - then we can be pleased with either of those teams completely leveraging their future for a couple years of good QB play.

Dum. Rodgers is an excellent regular season QB. You don't want to face him twice a year when vying for seed. He instantly makes either team better. Hopefully 49ers or bust. I don't think he leaves GB. My guess is he's trying to get a contract extension or renegotiation. GB isn't ready for for Jordan Love yet. They have an open window right now to make a SB.
