I can see why though. They're good, they have an easier draw with the 14 and 6. They are on an insane hot streak.
I don't know how "insane" that hot streak is, but I get what you're saying.

Winning 6 of 7 and beating an equally hot Oklahoma State team to win the first Big 12 conference championship is not bad.

No chance.
Going to be real fun when we have to hold our noses and root for mizzou to beat Gonzaga.

Because I'd rather play a 9 seed to go to Final Four than a team that is 34% to win the tournament before it even starts? Not hard.

Have Creighton or Virginia beat em then.
I'd hope the Zags would beat MIZZOU by 50.
Cheer on MIZZOU to reach the Sweet 16 AND beat the no.1 overall UNDEFEATED team doing so? GTFO.

Anyone see the OU v messoura game where Billy Tubbs grabbed the PA mic and said. "No matter how bad the refereeing gets, please don't throw stuff on the floor."

Good times.

obviously never been a fan of misery, but the “no mom tom” shit sealed the deal for me forever. i’ll never root for them, no matter how much it might “benefit” KU.

if we’re relegated to rooting for misery, it doesn’t say good things about how we feel about our own guys

For Misery to beat Gonzaga, it's going to require an awful performance by Gonzaga.

Why not just hope that if we play them, they play like shit?

No matter who we play, I always hope they don't have someone catch fire and have a night like macio teague had against TTU when he went 10-12 from 3. Or like Villanova had when they hit a record # of 3s against us.

Exactly. A good team has one shitty performance a tournament. You hope Gonzaga’s would be in Elite 8 against Kansas.

I certainly don't care how we get there, just want to get there. I think we are something close to a 10-point dog against Gonzaga, so would rather not see them. It's an interesting year where there are teams out there where our A-game does not beat theirs.

Me too but.....
In 91, 93, 02, 03, 12, and 18 we had to play a 1 or 2 seed in the Elite 8 and it worked out ok for us.
Call me crazy but none of us know what would or wouldn't happen against an assumed or imaginary opponent. Because of that, if we lose to Gonzaga I'm not going to pretend I know we would have beaten Mizzou.

In basically every other circumstance, i'd prefer the 8/9 to knock out the 1 in our bracket.
Cheering for MIZZOU is like cheering for Kispert to tear his ACL.
