6. Then absolute jack shit in the 2nd half.
NCAA 20-21
Re: NCAA 20-21
So.....haven't seen it mentioned, but how weird will it be if games are played in a mostly empty Allen Fieldhouse next season?
Re: NCAA 20-21
Big East/Big 12 Challenge matches announced for next season.
Creighton at Kansas
With both teams being preseason Top 10, and Creighton being just a few hours up the road, AFH will have some serious buzz to it if fans are allowed to attend.

The 2 things that this does for the majority of KU fans is that for the first time they will learn that:
1. Creighton is in the Big East
2. Creighton is in Omaha, Nebraska.
But, I like the homecoming for Mitch Ballock. Hope we torch his ass.

The one's who know about college basketball outside of Kansas and the Big 12 will. The people that won't be excited for this are the same people in the "why are we playing Gonzaga" camp.

That would make me a camp member. But, there is a large gulf between Creighton and Gonzaga.NDballer13 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 2:03 pmThe one's who know about college basketball outside of Kansas and the Big 12 will. It's not as sexy as a Duke or Kentucky matchup, yes, I'll give you that, but this will still be a marquee matchup in the college basketball season.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 2:06 pmThat would make me a camp member. It should be Villanova.
These interleague series, in hindsight, don't do it for me.

Re: NCAA 20-21
Seasons would get too repetitive if they constantly play the same out of conference teams year after year on top of the double dipping conference schedule. Fans would get burnt out and matchups would lose their atmosphere if a 31 game schedule was made up of the same 13 teams every year with only a few games against bottom of the barrel conferences being the difference.
Re: NCAA 20-21
Boo
I’m all for Gonzaga, but Creighton? GTFO with that weak shit.
Needs to be Villanova, Georgetown (DC recruiting) or Rutgers (NYC recruiting).
Even Seton Hall (NYC area), DePaul ( Chicago), Butler (Indianapolis), Providence and UConn (New England) would be better.

Re: NCAA 20-21
I don't buy the recruiting argument anymore. "We played a game near where you grew up when you were in HS, so.....now come here". This game will get more national attention than, say, rutgers.
Give me the best games. We already had Villanova, so creighton is good, xavier and butler also would be fine.

Plus every single game being nationally broadcast whether on ESPN+ or any TV channel, makes the pitch about playing one game in 4 years in front of family and friends a lot less meaningful.
Re: NCAA 20-21
Creighton is going to be a good team next season.
Who cares if Buffalo Wild Wings Chad doesn't know where Creighton is.
Like it.

Re: NCAA 20-21
I'd be interested to know the percentage of casual fans who know Villanova is in Philadelphia. Or UConn is in Storrs. Or the town of any specific school. Not sure why that would impact whether a game would be good or not, lol.

I was only responding to twocoach's assertion that Creighton being just a few hours up the road added to a buzzing Fieldhouse.NDballer13 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 3:49 pm I'd be interested to know the percentage of casual fans who know Villanova is in Philadelphia.
