Drew is a top 10 coach. In the Big 12, that is. I wouldn’t put him any higher.

I might consider hiring Scott Drew as a video coordinator or whatever Wayne Simien was with the church stuff.

Drew has improved as a coach but there are still times where his teams just play the old "foul them more than the refs will call" shit or his guards just pull it to the top of the key and run one vs one ISO ball. But he has gotten better and managing the clock and timeouts than he used to be (better than atrocious is still bad, though). Calling it a "rebuild" season is silly. They reloaded like Self has to do virtually every season.

I don’t like Scott Drew. Never have. Never will. But he inherited an absolute disaster. He taped that program back together into a national champion. You have to give him some credit for that.

Drew's "church stuff" seems very disingenuous, like he only does it to recruit kids from religious southern families.

Agreed. But very few coaches would have been given that amount of time for a turnaround so I give the administration as much credit as him. My guess is that far more coaches could have accomplished just as much from the same starting point if given such a long leash.

You guys don't like drew. But all the guy has done is win. And some of his best players recently were under the radar recruits that he developed over their career

But I wouldn't have necessarily given him big 12 coach of the year. I think they were like #8 overall preseason. They lost a lot of last years team, but still had good returning players.

Texas tech was supposed to fall apart when beard left. Their coach deserves coach of the year

Lately he has won a lot, but those middle 10 years of his tenure had a lot of years in the middle of the pack. And closer to the bottom than the top.

2007-08 was his full team of his after taking over that absolute shit storm. His seeds in the conference since then have been:
5
9
3
7
4
6
7
4
5
3
6
4
2
1
2

Not the worst, but definitely not "all he's done is win" level.

Pretty clear line of demarcation, as far as when he gave up on the zone.

Bill Self has won the league 16 out of the 19 years he's coached.
He has won B12 COY 6 times.
Scott Drew has won the league 2 of the 19 years he's coached.
He has won B12 COY 3 times.

Dumb.

Outside of Kansas that has to be near the top compared to other schools, right? We're the only school with no bad years.

Yeah he's not Bill self and Baylor is not ku. Nobody said that but Scott drew is clearly a good coach. Its clear common sense. He won a national title. Rebuilt a program from the ashes into a contender. The last 3 seasons they've been likely 1 seeds in the ncaa tournament.

You dont accomplish that without being a good coach
