Like I’m not recalling a standout performance in the Champions Classic like that since BIFM

I think it’s more we don’t have any other options at this point. He’s far and away our best option on offense at this moment in time.

Looking like an AA year.

Then it gets interesting.....will AA get him into the rafters?

Lol. His numbers right now are looking crazy. But they'll go do as we get into conference play. Teams are going to overplay the hell out of him like we haven't seen in a long time. Cause of no shooting

Keep the AA streak going.
We lost it in 2021 but had it going from 16 to 20.

And in a week where KU went 2-0 and beat the no. 7 team in the nation.
vs Baylor who went 1-1.

Meanwhile, Borzello knows whats up:

Player of the Week: Jalen Wilson, Kansas Jayhawks

"Wilson is looking like the star of a potential Final Four team. He developed into Kansas' go-to guy before our eyes in Tuesday's win against Duke, finishing with 25 points (on 26 shots), 11 rebounds and five assists and looking aggressive and confident late in the game when the Jayhawks needed some answers offensively. He upped his game against Southern Utah on Friday, going for 33 points, six boards and four assists. Wilson has been one of the best players in America through two weeks."

Also, dear randy:

5. Kansas Jayhawks (4-0)
Previous ranking: 6
This week: Battle 4 Atlantis (first game: vs. NC State on Wednesday)

All the attention so far this season has been on Jalen Wilson, and rightfully so, as he has been awesome. But junior point guard Dajuan Harris Jr. deserves more, given his high-level play at both ends of the floor. Remember, this is a guy who started 39 games last season -- on a national championship team. He has shouldered a bigger role offensively this season while still not sacrificing his defensive ability. As a facilitator, Harris has totaled 25 assists to just four turnovers, and he has scored in double figures twice in four games, including 14 much-needed points in Friday's win over Southern Utah.

not that I'm defending randy, but let's get some devil's advocate downer pity here...

yea, Dajuan has been great about facilitating and defense. And he's even up to 9 points per game!

BUT

he's currently only shooting 14% from deep, which, after 7 (wide open) attempts, is just 1 make so far all year. And, despite playing almost 32 mpg, and much of that 32mpg with the ball in his hands, he's only been to the free throw line 5 times all year, where he's shooting 60%. In 2 of 4 games so far, he didn't get to the line at all.

It's great that he's doing so well in the Rondo-type role. But, Rondo had the benefit of being surrounded by guys like PP and KG and Judas Shuttlesworth. On a roster that needs shooting, at the very least that means if Dajuan won't (can't) shoot, then the burden gets that much heavier for everyone else.

If we can continue to get 9/6/3.5 boreds out of him all season, that's pretty good! But, while it seems maybe he's consistent or even improved since last year at the things he is good at (facilitating and defense), the jury may still be out on whether he's improved at all at the things he's not good at (shooting...as a high-major D1 starting guard)

now somebody guttermeter me up!

No doubt.
It'd be nice if he could shoot.
He can't though.

Still playing at a very high level so far.

Why are we comparing DH to Rondo on the Celtics with 3 HOF players next to him?

We have 2 prolific scorers next to DH in Gradey and JW. We are doing just fine. DH doesn't need to score, even though he is, and some act like 9ppg isn't enough.

Do better.

Which is true and which is false:

Dajuan is a very good point guard
Dajuan can't shoot and isn't very explosive
