I visited for I think four days.
The surrounding desert/mountains were cool.
The city was trashy. Strip mally. Hot smell of asphalt. No old/interesting architecture that I saw. Speedway and Broadway had trash just lining the sidewalks/streets. Lotta sketch people slothing along at the bus? stops. Was told I HAD to try Eegees and it was not good. I only went around the edges of U of A but it seemed nice enough.

You can’t fully explore a city in four days but you can get a feel. It’s been ranked as one of the worst 50 cities in the US to live.

You’d have to pay me all the crimbucks to move there.

It would be the middle choice if the choices were:

1. Portland Maine
2. Lawrence Kansas
3. Tucson Arizona
4. Saint Louis Missouri
5. Juarez Mexico

Like every city, it has its' trashy parts. I was there 3 weeks ago, for 5 days.
I have to say, my wife and I commented on how clean it seemed. Granted, we didn't venture into low value property areas, nor would i spend any time in similar areas of any city.

We left impressed enough that we are searching for property there.

Maybe things have improved there.
