Re: BBQ
Yeah Q39 is my second favorite in KC. Truly good BBQ. The brisket is fantastic. I don't like fatty brisket and they don't really serve that.

I now go to SLAP the most. They killed it on the circuit and are super nice people.
Q39 is an absolute machine.

Re: BBQ
So I’ve long been in the Chipotle is better than QDoba club.
Leaving Denver, I even tried to go a little out of my way to get the Chipotle in that Colorado Mills shopping center, but apparently missed a turn and somehow ended up in Golden instead. Said fuck it, I’ll just settle for the QDoba in Evergreen on the way back up the hill.
I guess it just seemed gimmicky to argue that Qdoba is better when the whole argument hinged on, “but queso!” To me, it didn’t make up for the fact that it was just a blander, milder, substantively inferior burrito.
But I’d like to give credit where credit is due, cuz QDoba finally did something better than Chipotle:
Smoked brisket?!
It was actually really good too. Superior to Chipotle’s Barbacoa.
Now for the real test: whether I can make it over Berthoud Pass and back to Fraser without shitting my pants.

Re: BBQ
I always liked Freebirds the most but also clearly liked both Freebirds and Chipotle more than Qdoba.
Wonder if Freebirds is even still around.

Yes - if you're after quantity - which you should be, you're going to Chipotle, don't do tacos.
I have noticed at Chipotle they aren't stuffing the burritos as full like they used to.
I don't eat there often as there isn't one near me - but the one on Mass St. took all my money when I was in college.

Pour out some BBQ sauce. LC Richardson, that LC, died today. Sad day.
