Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Is this true?

Welcome to history, Saint Peter's! The 15-seed Peacocks picked up their first NCAA Tournament win ever in stunning, dramatic style, beating 2-seed Kentucky, 85-79, in overtime. There are several ways to qualify how unexpected this one was:

Saint Peter's closed as an 18.5-point underdog, making this the fourth-largest betting upset since the Tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1985.

With the win, 15 seeds improved to 10-135 all-time against 2 seeds.

98% of CBS Sports brackets picked Kentucky.

This was all such a big deal that Saint Peter's school website crashed after the win.

Facts are facts, sir. And this will remain true for at least 363 days (361 or 362, I suppose, if one of them wins a play-in game).

the cherry on top to winning the whole damn thing this year would be taking sole possession of the all-time wins record en route

It'd be a great story line. We'd take 1st by winning the elite 8 match up correct?

The media would love that story all week long leading up to the final four.

And by then it'll be 4 years since uk had a tourney win.

We started the season behind by 4 and currently have 3 more wins than them on the season. One more win to tie and two more wins to take the lead.

OMG OMG OMG

https://www.kansascity.com/sports/colle ... 19754.html
[Cal's] Opening statement: “Sad day. Not just we lose a game. It’s that this season ended with this group and how much joy they brought to me and our staff. And I’ll just say one thing; that you have an eight-point lead, and I’m a guy that’s been through a lot of these, you have an eight-point lead with three minutes to go, you win the game.

“So I really don’t need to know, well, this guy did that and that guy did this and this and this and this. We had an eight-point lead with three-some to go. I’m not taking away from Saint Peter’s. They deserved to win the game. They fought the entire time.

“But that’s how I feel about it; that, you know, these guys put us in a position to win the game. Let’s finish it off.”
Your honor, may I introduce into the motherfucking evidence, the following motherfucking Exhibit 1-A.
