Getting paid to play a sport is never a bad option. It's a dream.

True.

I meant in the context of a future in the NBA. He has almost none right now imo. Maybe with another year or 2 learning from Self he would? Hard to say. I never blame kids for getting money.

I don't know how much these kids can realistically make from NIL. My new boss who is an Illini grad/season ticket holder is paying $500 for 2 players to come to his wife's birthday party for 30min.

At 22 already, and well on his way to a free degree and endless contacts, maybe graduating and then playing a handful of years overaeas isn't a bad option. He won't earn enough in those 5-10 years to never have to worry about money again more than likely. Then he can use that degree and contacts for a lucrative profession career off the court....of course he can do that stuff in a different order and still have it worm out.

I guess to me it seems his only chance at a long term NBA career is to get a lot better at basketball, and i think his best option to achieve that is at KU.

#16 in SI’s latest draft projection

(CB @#53)

Jarrett Sutton is a really great listen on 810. And, he went to Och’s high school, and, he is clearly a source for The Athletic’s draft stuff.

He thinks Braun could have a trajectory like Och’s if he stays. And of course staying is now competitive with a two-way contract, financially.

I am hopeful he stays.

If Och isn’t your favorite, re-evaluate your KU fandom. Embodies everything this program celebrates and cares about.

2022 NBA Draft odds: First player to be drafted by Cavaliers

Top three potential picks:
Ochai Agbaji (+225)
Ousmane Dieng (+450)
Jalen Williams (+1200)

Ochai Agbaji, Kansas (+225). Agbaji can be an instant contributor for the Cavaliers next season, especially with his scoring ability. Most mock drafts have Cleveland taking Agbaji or Branham, who both will likely be available at No. 14 overall. Agbaji has reportedly worked out for the Cavs and other teams around that range.

The 22-year-old wing had an outstanding senior season at Kansas, helping the Jayhawks win the National Championship. Agbaji averaged 18.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. He also shot 47.5 percent from the field and 40.7 percent from deep, which would benefit the Cavs at the forward spot.
