I'm ok with using #13 to take a flyer. It's almost never going to matter and Cam's did not matter.

It's much more likely that Curry not coming was the staff's decision. Recall that around that time we also sent Muscadin (RIP) packing. They obviously thought Clemence and Adams could contribute, and they did. They had a plan for the roster, and all they did was win the National Championship with it.
