that's an interesting thought.

and though Silvio is about the same height as Mitch or Tristan, I think he's a lot stronger than either.

dude's got some shoulders.

Can I make the unsolicited comparison of Gethro to Giles yet? In play only.

If cross-race comps are allowed, please show him Withey tape on loop.

He looks quite a bit shorter...but hard to judge pictures.

Despite the photo, in which Mitch is closer ( closest of all the players standing ) to the camera, and SDS maybe the furthest of all the players, I'll believe Mitch being stronger/bigger than SDS when I see them ( through my television ) on the court.

in play only, sure. Let's hope Gethro's head is on straight.

is that dude a redshirt candidate?

Possible. Definitely a project like most big frosh. If Tristan takes the minutes at the 4 in smallish ball.

In a normal world, I would say it seems a good situation to ask Jossell and Muscadin to both redshirt.

But, never know this year when you need the bodies. And a good chance this season doesn't count towards eligibility, anyway.*

*Which, my gosh, there was a very real scenario where Udoka played college basketball in 2022!

that's 3rd string pg and 4th string big, respectively.

I don't think it's any more likely frosh Gethro beats David/Silvio/Mitch at the big or Jalen/Tristan/TGIF at the 4.

and, as Och has displayed, a redshirt doesn't have to stay on.

fortunately, I'm not sure this team has any proven head cases to wonder about, a la 2019

You'd think the NABC would be interested in knowing about the bolded point. Now.

He's a good rebounder. Quite a bit better than Mitch, so he's got that. But he's not a rim protector or presence in the lane that prevents anyone from driving or anything. And Mitch has been as good or better shot blocker per 40 than SDS over their careers.

i’ve been surprised since day 1 how little lift SDS seems to have

his vertical just seems average at best

I suppose maybe compared to some high flyers, but Silvio's still good for a couple sweet dunks a game.

dude also has good hands for a big.

I think the thing about him is, he's best when operating within one step of the rim.

I think he's a good leaper with a run, I don't think he has much vertical lift from standing.

Also, Goddammit, WVU is unlikeable in every way.

Silvio and Och sort of occupy the same headspace with me. There should just be more.

right

they’ve both shown flashes/potential, but have yet to find that higher gear to be a star
