Re: 2022 Big 12 Awards
Do you guys think Mark few is a good coach?
Re: 2022 Big 12 Awards
Mark Few is good.
He could be an assistant coach under Self.
Scott Drew could be one of people who mop AFH's court when a player falls on it.

Mark Few is among the group of "pretty good coaches that haven't won a national title."
Scott Drew just sucks.

Re: 2022 Big 12 Awards
Scott drew sucks
I only came to kick some ass...
Rock the fucking house and kick some ass.

Re: 2022 Big 12 Awards
Don't waste your time. They know Scott Drew doesn't suck. He took a program in complete disarray and built them into a program that won a national championship.
It's March. Everyone is in, or preparing to be in, meltdown mode. Split screens. Scott Drew. Etc. Etc. Etc. Everyone and everything sucks.
Go back to your cave randy!

Depends what happens in the next few weeks, right?
Leading to a Final Four would put him on the same level as Collins, Graham, Mason and T. Robinson (I understand Mason never made one, but NPOY is NPOY).
The tier below that is…full of guys like Aldrich and Azubuike and Chalmers and Marcus Morris and Simien and Taylor.
I think that second tier is Agbaji’s floor.

Are we talking career or individual season?
He’s likely already top 10 in both.
He needs to play well in the post.

Re: 2022 Big 12 Awards
He’s already ahead of Tyshawn for me.
The other guys mentioned in the second tier ( of which I’d add Rush and, yes, Perry ) yea, he’s already in there right now.
If he plays six more games, around his averages, I think he’s at the top of that second tier.
He’s had some things go against him with the 2020 tourney cancellation and the loss of some non con games his freshman season. He has never been to a Sweet 16.

Re: 2022 Big 12 Awards
I personally don't perceive Perry to be on that second tier level, but I suppose his profile isn't really so different from Marcus' or Cole's (assuming Cole gets only a minor bump for 07-08, which I think is fair).

Re: 2022 Big 12 Awards
I think he’s already tier 1 because he will be consensus. He’d be last in tier 1 as it stands right now.
Plus, we’d have a different view of him if 2020 tourney wasn’t canceled. (That said, if 2020 wasn’t canceled, maybe he’d be in the NBA this year)

Absolutely, it is. Which is why I said it's not the worst. He missed the tourney 4 of those years as well.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 6:30 pmOutside of Kansas that has to be near the top compared to other schools, right? We're the only school with no bad years.NDballer13 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 3:26 pmLately he has won a lot, but those middle 10 years of his tenure had a lot of years in the middle of the pack. And closer to the bottom than the top.randylahey wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 1:57 pm You guys don't like drew. But all the guy has done is win. And some of his best players recently were under the radar recruits that he developed over their career
2007-08 was his full team of his after taking over that absolute shit storm. His seeds in the conference since then have been:
5
9
3
7
4
6

4
5
3
6
4
2
1

Not the worst, but definitely not "all he's done is win" level.
You just can't have that many finishes in the bottom half of your own conference, make the tourney a little over 1/3 of the time, and be labeled as a coach who only wins.
Re: 2022 Big 12 Awards
We will see on consensus. That would move the needle for me. Although failing to get out of the first weekend at a minimum would mean he very very much sits at the bottom of Tier 1.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Wed Mar 09, 2022 8:14 am I think he’s already tier 1 because he will be consensus. Re: 2022 Big 12 Awards
He seems to be on his way to consensus. Already has Sporting News wrapped up.
And then with AP voting him unanimous league POY yesterday, I think that bodes very well for him, in at worst, just the AP vote.

Re: 2022 Big 12 Awards
Total production in terms of total stats and wins/titles/tourney success is a factor for me if it's 'hybrid'.
At the moment, he's lower than a lot of the guys mentioned on all of the above.
If we are talking one season, then that's different.

Re: 2022 Big 12 Awards
Obviously 2019-20 is unknowable. Third banana on a Final Four (or even title) team would obviously make a huge difference. Big part of what separates Sherron from some others.
Re: 2022 Big 12 Awards
Don't see how that team wouldn't have made the final 4.
But at the same time, we've had teams I'd have said that about as well that didn't, so his legacy could also have been hurt by an early bow out that year (especially depending on how far we get this season)...although obviously as a 3rd option it would have mostly fallen on Dok and Dot.
I don't know where I'd put Och yet on the Self Era ranking list. A LOT is going to fall on how the rest of this season goes.

I think he's first tier. I think dok would be too if 2020 wasn't canceled. That boy was dominantCrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Wed Mar 09, 2022 8:14 am I think he’s already tier 1 because he will be consensus. He’d be last in tier 1 as it stands right now.
