Bobby is a sophomore who’s enjoyed the benefit of the coach’s pet treatment too.

That’s to say, not sure he should still be in over his head.

But maybe that’s for the 23-24 lineup thread.

Norm had a 78% win percentage as head coach this year.

Ok.
I still think Self would have made the difference tonight.

Bill Self had a 78% win percentage as head coach this year.

But Bill didn't have to coach any games without Norm.

Bill coached the team through the gauntlet of tough road games too. That is not similar.

Don’t know if it’s worth engaging here Sparko. Illy will say MSG, KC and Des Moines are road games so Norm technically had a higher percentage of them. See DCs Sigh thread.

Norm coached against kempom ranked teams #5 #17 #18 #20 and #30.

That's 5 of his 9 games. That's a gauntlet. He went 7-2. Same winning % as Self this year.

Is it not a fact? I mean jesus fucking christ.

Self had the gauntlet portion of the schedule and Norm didn't?

Lets say self was healthy. He mightve got us past Arkansas. He probably does. But where was this team heading? A sweet 16 loss instead of a round of 32? Self overachieved by winning the big 12 and being a 1 seed with this team. We just weren't built for a deep run again this season

Idk what the point of hating on norm is. Hes the assistant coach. He stepped up an answered the call to the best of his ability under weird circumstances

I think Norm did the best he could.
And he did well this season.
I don’t think he did well tonight nor did he do well in the game v Texas.
I think Self could have done better on both those games and would likely have been the difference for us to advance tonight.

Thanks Norm!

Some of us appreciate you doing your absolute best to help KU be as successful as they possibly could be this year.

Thank god Self wasn't head coach during any 20pt beatdowns this year. Or any close losses where our final possession or 2 sucked.

Oh, wait...

Thanks, Norm!

Of all the assistants on this team, you're easily in the Top 3.

Luv ya!

Self has also lost games this fanbase expected to win. In fact 90 percent of his seasons at KU ended with a loss this fanbase expected to win. #entitled
