Big names? Off the top of my head I would think they would want to reach out to Stevens, Beard, Few, Bennett, Wright.
Heck, highly doubtful and maybe a huge reach but who really knows- perhaps Calipari might be happy jumping the Kentucky ship.
What about Musselman, Sean Miller, Leo Hamilton?
Go after one of their own alums? Alford and Fife would have to be considered.
Would they go smaller name and consider someone such as Moser?

A lot of John Beilein chatter for the Indiana job this evening...but it would only be a short-term hire, I would assume; the guy is pushing 70, right?

Rick Pitino's kid got canned from Minnesota today as well.

If I’m ISU, I’m going after Archie Miller.

Does Indiana call Chris Beard???

I think Beard would say thanks but no thanks.

Indiana used to be a powerhouse—I think they’d need someone to bring it back before getting the big names again.

Yeah Beard would say no.

But Stevens..? That's a dream job in a state that he is from. They should push hard and make him say no.

No chance on either.

It’s like the Nebraska football job; but worse.

Stevens still has something to prove in the NBA.
He already coached at Butler - Indiana is a step up from that - but not as much as one would think at the moment.
You'd need Stevens to flounder for a couple years, the timing isn't right.

There's just a part of me that thinks that he is a much better fit both personality and Xs and Os with the collegiate game than dealing with 30 year old pros.

And he has said he has enjoyed the opposite.

But, the whole reason this is even being talked about is he is supposedly wavering. First time his job hasn’t been rock solid in the NBA.

IU just sounds like an awful job to take especially when he has a realistic shot at the duke job.

I mean you are right. I think he said it at the time because it was different. Most of the time being an NBA Head Coach, you sit back and let players do their thing. You don't call out plays every time down the court. You just manage egos. But you get paid the big bucks because you are the absolute best in late game situations. So you substitute coaching your ass off for 40 minutes in the college game, to sit back for about 40 minutes in an NBA game and coach your ass off the last 8 minutes.

Definitely different.

Actually quite sad how far the Clones have fallen.

Conference is much more fun when Iowa State is good.

The Mayor again would be a lot of fun. Just not sure how realistic it is.

TJ Otzelberger at UNLV the leading candidate it seems. Went from South Dakota State to UNLV.

Plays similar style to Hoiberg. Run and gun and shoot 3s.

He's 25-26 at UNLV. He'll get chewed up and spit out in the big xii

AP AA:

Butler
Cade
Kispert
Ayo
Garza

With a full season award, Garza will get the nod, but I think I'd roll with Cade over anyone right now.
