Millennials are sure reaping the benefits of Boomer and GenX economics and governance. Blaming lack of attendance on millennials is like blaming them for not buying houses when we have limited supply, killed jobs, and saddled students with crushing debt.

It's not that millennial and gen z aren't going to sports events because of cost, it's because of a lack of interest, in no small part to that wide range of activities available to the 2 generations as compared to OK Boomers and Gen X.
That's really hit all generations. There's just not a lot of reason to overspend on sporting events anymore.

Nobody had "other things to spend their money on" prior to last season. We got lower than 1st place once and thousands of fans failed to renew their tickets.
I have been to the Friday night games at the beginning of the year for the last several years. This year was noticeably different. I will say that some construction likely dis have people arriving late and it did eventually fill in better than it looked like it would 5 minutes before tipoff, but there were tons of empty seats in the corners and GA.
