So, I beat Quousie. Not sure how I did it, but it looks like I'm 1-0.

I'm last so you're already better at this than me.
I'm rooting for you 99.

Last year in my main league, a guy lost by .03 pts in the semifinal, on a 16 yard Justin Jefferson catch with 50 seconds left in the game.

Simple answer is..... Because the 0.04 points per passing yard.
I feel it's moronic and should be abolished but.....

It's better than the 1 point per 10 yards of passing/rushing/receiving nonsense. If my guy gets more yards, he should get more points, even if it is only a little.

I agree that someone should get more points for more yards but I'm torn in regards to my preferences on how the scoring is done.
I may actually like the 1 point (or .5 points) per 10 yards. What I don't understand is why the 0.04 points per passing yard was implemented. Why not round it off to 0.05?

So you just have issues with the physical appearance of of abnormal number strings. That's just an OCD issue. I get it. Weird things bug me, too.

Maybe that's part of my issue. Another part is that it's only QBs who have "abnormal number strings".
Why don't RB, WR, TE, have 0.04 yards per carry/reception too?
As I have said, the rules are the same for all participants so it's not that I feel it's unfair but it's not the way I would chose to do the scoring. That's really all. I'll shut up now and move on.

It's to offset the usage a QB has. Over time league norms have changed. If QBs got the same amount of pts per yard as other players they'd score even more raw points than they do now in comparison to the other positions.

All positions have it.

QBs are typically 1 point per 25 yards of passing while RBs/WRs/TEs are 1 point per 10 yards of rushing/receiving. Breaking it down to a per yard level to avoid the gaps is 0.04 points per yards passing and 0.1 yards per rush/reception for everything else.

Kamara had 39 rush yards (39 x 0.10 ppry= 3.9 points), 3 receptions (3 x 0.5 ppr = 1.5 points) and 7 receiving yards (7 x 0.10 ppry = 0.7 points) for a total of 6.10 points.

If QBs got the same points per yard as RBs, WRs and TEs then their value would be so high that scoring would be 100% dependent on what your QB did and no one else would even matter.

If QBs got the same points per yards for passing, Patrick Mahomes would have had 360 yards (360 x 0.10ppy + 1 bonus point for 300+ yards = 37 points) and 5 TD (5 x 4pptd = 20 points) = 57 points. That point total is completely unattainable for a WR or RB without some sort of ridiculous bonuses in place for various weird things. Meanwhile, Mahomes has put up more than 300+ yards and 5 TDs 5 times in the last 4 seasons. So they knock down the points per yards to bring the QB down closer to the rest of the game so that fantasy rosters aren't wholly dependent on QB play or rendering the rest of the roster irrelevant.

Will be basically impossible for me to win with two receivers that are going to combine for 1.7 total points.

You look to be on pace to go 2 straight weeks of marching up against ghe person who got league high points that week. Just bad luck. That will normalize out over time.

KCrim League: up by 17 on Ous with Justin Jefferson and Dallas Goedert still to play. Our still has AJ Brown and Dawson Knox to play. Should be fine if Jefferson is average and Knox doesn't go nuts.

Money League: Up 42 with Justin Jefferson left to play vs. Adam Thielen still to play for opponent. A decent Jefferson game will give me the weekly high points $10 win.

Looking to roll to 2-0 in both leagues. Great WR play is propping up getting virtually nothing from 2nd round pick Alvin Kamara. Dude needs to get healthy and put up some points.
