Ribs. Wings. Trout. Salmon. Potatoes. Two levels on the Smoky Mountain. Finished ribs with Bryants Rich and Spicy. Coleslaw, street corn as sides.

Canoed with the BBQ Bud to a bar and had a few drinks. Saw a seal and two bald eagles going after a school of fish. Mid 60's, bright blue sky. Damn fine Fall day.

Sorry shouldn't have confused with actual BUD - this was Friday.
BUD was at work.
This was a man BUD date.

True BUD showed up at 5:30 to eat the salmon and trout.

But always bring a life jacket, don't gotta wear it, just to be safe.

Sounds like a great way to start autumn. Really.

I'm jealous. Which, in turn, pisses me off.

I'm pissed off.
Please, I implore you to be reasonable...

While our house is on the market, we are moving to a townhouse close to here. Mrs 99 works weekends and we can't always vacate on a moment's notice. The commie, socialist, marxist townhouse does not allow grills of any kind on the property.

wtf
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Got to challenge that shit bro! I’d advise not only setting up the smoker but also blaring some southern rock music all day. This is ‘Merica!

99, maybe you just dry-rubbed the commie socialist marxist landlord the wrong way by painting this on the townhouse fence as soon as you moved in?

but if he's a true ideological commie socialist marxist, maybe he'd at least allow this?

also I'm disappointed about how few puns there apparently are about bbq and Orwell's animal farm.

That's not BBQ. Something isn't BBQ just because it has BBQ sauce on it.

Ohh good ideas.

Between the skin and meat I was gonna just gonna stuff butter.

Didn’t realize a turkey takes about 24 hours per 5 pounds to thaw in the fridge.

A faster option is in a cold water bath, but supposed to change the water every half donut.

The key is to avoid the danger zone of 40-140 degrees.

sooo what if I just put it in a cooler full of ice water? That should defrost it while also not getting too warm right?

Yea.

Maybe just smother it in night of the living sauce and throw it all in the crock pot.

Smoked turkey is the best.
We haven’t gotten to host in a while, and aren’t this year, but there was a moment where we thought we’d have to skip the travel so we bought all the Thanksgiving fixins as backup.

So now we have a turkey in brine in the fridge…so I might have to smoke it on Friday.
