Fauci is the wrong target. State and local governments are the ones closing businesses and churches and making decisions about protests, not Fauci.

He said crowds increase spread, what more would you want. He's not a politician or law enforcement expert.

At this point, this is all 100% on the folks. We know the deal by now. This is on us.

How this goes is 100% on us.

Sadly, there are still a ton of people who do not "know the deal".

Most of them use terms like "folks".

Jim Jordan is an idiot who thinks he is smart. He thinks his gotcha questions are witty and on point when they are really nothing more than your typical "slippery slope" shtick.

That said, if a state passed a requirement that masks be worn at protests, I would have zero problem with it.

Also, cops in Aurora* handcuff and point guns at a family with kids as young as 6 cuz they mistook their minivan for a stolen motorcycle:

*you know, the same department who peacefully detained the Aurora theater shooter without incident, but killed Elijah McClain after he wasn’t even suspected of a crime...

More important question. Why is a guy that handsome a cop in the first place?

Oh hi lobster!

I’d be curious to hear your thoughts on the back the blue rally in foco, or the mistaken stolen motorcycle in aurora.

so apparently at least some of the unidentified federal cops detaining Portland protestors were actually a private security company.

Question for those who made it further in law school than I did:

Does this change anything if a wrongfully detained and/or injured protestor were to be suing a private company versus gummint law enforcement?

The full video is available and it shows a very different picture than what the media manipulated it into. He also had 3 times the lethal amount of fentanyl in his system and alcohol, and he was recovering from covid. Notice how he complains he could not breathe when he was standing and he asking if he could sit on the ground because of his trouble breathing. It's sad to say it, but he likely died because of the stuff in his system and because of the emotional stress of being in trouble.

You’d be a lot more fun if you actually wanted to discuss these things.

The defense attorneys are going to argue that he ate a bag of heroin/fentanyl when they pulled him over. He had a ridiculous amount of it in his system (like an amount of fentanyl that is almost impossible to survive ingesting). I still think it was wrong to kneel on his neck and the cop should go to jail...but it is totally reasonable to wonder if he was going to die no matter what from ingesting the drugs he had on him thru his mouth. Defense attorney has pointed out in some of the videos you can see a white substance on/under his tongue which is probably the drugs they allege he ate.

Again, so that this doesnt get twisted, the cop should still be punished for unnecessary use of force. There is no reason to kneel on someones neck who is handcuffed and has no chance of getting away.

“He was prob gonna die no matter what” is quite the defense.

Did cops know at the time he allegedly ingested drugs?
