California is one of only a few states that allows Tesla to sell direct to consumer.
They are wildly popular in Texas, and some are built there. But, due to outdated franchise laws, if you buy a Tesla in Texas….even if it built there….it has to leave the state and get imported back in for the customer to take delivery.
What else would you expect from a state that regulates its energy resources through a railroad commission?

Living in Texas, it makes perfect sense. Everyone wants a cut.

I guess that's why, despite claiming to be a "Free Speech Absolutist", Musk agreed to suppress the tweets of the opposition to Modi in India, and Erdoğan in Turkey.
