I would certainly rather we be in a cycle where a Dem Pres was nominating left leaning justices but that's not the cycle we are in.

I wish we were in a cycle in which it didn't matter, in which the courts (and the Court, more specifically) were not seen as the mechanism by which the constitutional order is subverted to attain goals otherwise unattainable.

As he should have. He wasn't screaming and lying during his testimony.

He replaced Scalia -- a push.

This is for Kennedy -- the deciding vote in Casey.

Do you have anything to add to the actual topic of the conversation?

So, he only cries when he gets bullied?

Kavanaugh. The last time I saw that many sniffles and cry faces was when my kids got their first shots.

I almost shot my drink out of my nose laughing at this post.

This is, by far, the dumbest fucking talking point of them all.

Judges are allowed to be angry and to assume bias. And they're also allowed to recuse themselves -- an option Kavanaugh didn't, have been accused of being a serial gang rapist.
No, judges are not expected to be belligerent and hostile, as Kavanaugh was. They're not expected to publicly state their rage and their intention to be as biased as possible against those who they perceive to have harmed them.

Above all, they're not expected to be nothing more than a total political hack, as Kavanaugh has always been. And while some may be disgusting drunks as Kavanaugh is, the public doesn't usually find that out. Even their own brethren are sometimes not aware of what an alcohol problem they may have--unlike Kavanaugh.

Kavanaugh was the accused, not the judge, in this particular instance.

This whole Kavenough thing is so overrated. How about instead of trying to destroy other people, let's try to create something better. It's all so tiresome.

because for some, it isn’t about what’s right, or what’s good for the citizenry...it’s about winning

all you have to do is read the comments here, and if you can stand it, listen to the words coming out of drumpf’s mouth

i actually don’t think we’re at rock bottom yet, but it would seem we are well on our way

So you're saying it's "overrated" to determine if a single person who could theoretically be more important than the President of this country should be nominated and voted "in". Got it.
Meanwhile, the leader of this country happens to try and destroy people on a daily basis.
Indeed it's VERY tiresome.
