I didn't even know CnB was a Gospel fan.
Are you saying De Sousa is the King?

I think it's on the optimistic side of the spectrum to think he will officially get cleared before the season is over, since the NCAA said they won't make decisions until after the final 4....but I hope CnB is right.

If the hold out was for a 30% punishment, "soon" would be that he will play Saturday.

He was seen last night purchasing gifts at Walmart for needy children.

Sounds fishy. Where'd he get the cash?

Dirty player/program.

Decent movie on Netflix called "Amateur" that is about the ridiculous rules the ncaa has in place to make sure they get all the money and nobody else.

(it's not a great movie, but it's a serviceable way to waste 90min....certainly better than reading the poli-bored)

Any reason in particular?

I don't think the ncaa speeds up their time line because Dok got hurt, but hopefully I'm wrong.

multiple sources confirmed that KU is set to acknowledge that a violation took place (presumably the $2,500), and ask the he be “reinstated”

If you read the following, keep in mind that this is coming from Seth Davis, who has never had a good grasp of NCAA bylaws:

"However, since De Sousa's alleged improper payment would have taken place before he was enrolled at school, the NCAA could rule De Sousa was ineligible before he served what could count as his suspension. And Kansas's Final Four trip from last season could be vacated as well."

Also, in Davis's report, he cited a source that the NCAA and UMD looked into the alleged $60k payment from a booster and found no evidence. "Prove it."

Why did we wait until now to do this?

I hope this turns out well for SDS...and I also hope it doesn't result in last year's final 4 being vacated....but then again, it's not like people don't still acknowledge Memphis' final 4 in 2008.

If you believe the reports it was presumably because KU was spending that time gathering information into any potential wrongdoing.

If the only violation they found or want to publicly admit was a 'mere' $2,500 payment he has already sat out 19 games (?). I believe that is more than enough punishment for his 'crime.'
