I would also say Wiggins, Henry, and Josh jackson were our 3 best freshman so far. they were as solid as you could expect a one and done to be. and all 3 of them gave us absolute shit games in their last college game in march madness. and we lost games we were expected to win. 2 of those were in the first weekend

I'm with you. I'm on the pessimistic end of the spectrum with freshman a lot of the time historically.

But in this instance with Grimes (not the other freshman this year) I don't think KJ is good enough to keep him off the court. Plus he's not a multi year KU player (like were on the other end of those situations you alluded to), he's (KJ) a newcomer too even though he had last year to practice...transfers have historically struggled much like freshman have.

Garrett will start. The only other drama will be whether Bill wants to hold a carrot in front of Vick by not starting him right away.

You really think we can play without either Moore or Dotson on the floor?

That seems crazy to me, but maybe we've seen different things. I've seen nothing that would make me think Vick or Garrett would be capable of being the primary ball handler or match up against other teams smaller/quicker PGs defensively.

Going to be a fun year watching how this all works itself out.

Oh so we got beef now?

(I’d really be in favor of having CrimsonPoints or something, where everyone starts with 1,000 and we can bet them against each other.)

I’m in for that as well.

If Garrett is to start, he must have made HUGE improvements in the offseason. Right now, he’s a guard who can’t shoot and has well below average handles. This years team is too talented to let that liability play significant minutes. Moore, Dotson, Grimes, Vick and KJ Lawson should all be above Garrett.

I could see garrett starting at some point. I don't think he should. his lack of jump shot hinders us.

but he has more experience on the floor at KU than any guard except vick. He takes care of the ball and is our best perimeter defender. all things self loves

i’d day it depends on how much the others buy in on defense...we have the bodies, so there is no reason they all shouldn’t be busting ass

I like Garrett but he isn't starting over Grimes unless we are talking Pitt State, Emporia State or whatever of the four Div 3 teams that play in the rotation. Grimes is an exceptional player.

If somebody is playing shit defense self could definitely bench them in favor of garrett to send a message. It could be the rare season self actually uses 6 perimeter players.

moore, dotson, grimes, vick, garrett, and KJ lawson all have different strengths to offer.

give akbaji the redshirt. let him develop into a monster 3 years down the line
