Saw this and it made me think of some of the stuff we were discussing yesterday.

Josh Jax got the start last night and made the most of it. 10-15 from the field and finished with 25.

Svi was LeBron's boy. How quickly The King must have turned on him.
Would have been as simple as LeBron telling management not to trade him - and he would still be a Laker.
My guess is he's not going to be a Piston for life. Maybe not even a Piston for the rest of the season.

Someone needs to check Wiggins to see if he has testicles and/or a heart.

Reggie Bullock gets/got minutes in Detroit. Svi may likely get many/most of those because they need shooting.

Instead of Svi competing with Kuzma, Ingram, Lance, Hart, etc for minutes in LA, he will be competing with stanley Johnson, and Luke Kennard.....I'd take that 2nd situation if I were him...even though it's nicer to live in LA than Detroit.

The Lakers need to be careful not to gut their roster to acquire AD. To win a title you need decent role players even when you've got LeBron as captain of the ship.

I may very well be in the minority here, but I felt good about this when I saw he went to Detroit...at least for Svi personally...but maybe I'm overlooking the differences in player development capabilities too much.

This is GM-Bron's M.O. It's the same mentality that led to trading Wiggins for Kevin Love.

I'm not sure LeBron has quite as much pull now....although I also think the Lakers have a better front office, so he probably doesn't need to help as much. He and Magic view each other and interact with each other much different that LeBron and the Cavs front office did.

And the Love for Wiggins trade worked out, so I don't have much problem with it, even though I see both sides of that argument. They made the finals that year and without Love they wouldn't have.

I don’t think the Lakers would have bid against themselves without Bron in Magic’s ear.

Getting away from LBJ is a good thing.

I think reasonable minds can disagree on whether Love/Wiggins was the right decision. Certainly it worked out ok for the Cavs (although there's a healthy assist to the Draymond suspension to be noted).

Anthony Davis is awesome. But nothing could convince me that he's somehow become un-fragile. There are other options for max slots that all you have to do is pay them money. I don't think it's a great idea for the Lakers to give up more than two of Ball/Ingram/Kuzma.
