He has survived way too much through too many regimes.

I have faith that Beaty shit the bed in some terrible way. No way KU wants this black eye. It is a faith I learned watching him coach. And UT fans are sounding a lot like power cats on this.

Meh. Gimme a break. KU has been unbelievably fair to Bowen.

So....how are feeling about Jeff Long now?

I feel that I'm surprised he took this mess of a job.

Yeah, there was clearly a lot of bullshit going on.

But is there any indication Long's handled any of it well, other than hiring miles?

I mean, the SDS situation couldn't have been handled worse, and now the way the Beaty situation is being handled, rumors that Self will leave, etc.

I think we can justify how KU acted in De Sousa situation at that time. Hindsight says, do it differently, but I find it hard to fault the athletic dept. for appeasing the NCAA at that time.

Beaty stuff still too early for a verdict. No pun intended.

The donors like him, and we pretty much hired him for one specific reason: deliver someone like Les Miles.

Hard to blame Long for any of this. The adidas crap was out of control throughout bb; Beaty was a horror. He actually tried to do the right thing by him, but look where that got him. Again, there is nothing about Beaty to indicate competence. He might have rolled the dice on recruiting; he might have sold KU out to recruiting competitors. His ass should have been shown the door early and often. Zenger is the author of this.

Yeah, I know. I thought the ‘to not be a backstabbing piece of shit’ was implied based on previous posts.

The smart money is on Les and it will be the biggest day in KUFB in over a decade.

P.S. My gosh is this board in need of good discussion.
Now accepting apologies.

Right.
Beaty coulda taken two ( in a sense, later down the line, game ending ) timeouts to pass up a chance to make it a one point game only to draw up a play where Stanley scrambles for negative yards and turns the ball over on downs.

I honestly thought we would have seen the end of the sheer dumbfuckery and abject incompetence.

I tried to warn everybody that Les has his moments of stupidity when it comes to TO usage and gameday management.

But Les is here for the day-to-day improvements and what happens during the week.

Saturday's he'll struggle in tough situations.
