It wasn't negative.
He had an assist and one point and didn't miss a lot of shots.
.002.
Right behind Charlie Moore's .078.

I'd agree with those rankings.
If Udoka hadn't gotten hurt, I think he'd solidly be in the 3 spot in both categories and possibly competing with the 2.

Dedric Lawson is on pace to record the best CrimScore under Bill Self at Kansas.
.896 Dedric Lawson 2019
.831 Wayne Simien 2005
.804 Frank Mason 2017
.760 Cole Aldrich 2009
.751 Thomas Robinson 2012
In fact, Dedric Lawson is on pace to record the best CrimScore since 1988, Danny Manning's senior year ( though Danny Manning's junior year is still better than Lawson's current score ), besting Drew Gooden 2002 and Raef LaFrentz 1998.

Vick's .587 would place him just within the top 20 seasons all time under Bill Self just ahead of Julian Wright's final year.

Quentin Grimes .116.
6 PTS, 3 REB, 3 TO, 3/9 FG.
Ouch.
That doesn't tell the whole story of how he couldn't beat a chubby white guy with rosatia who looked like he was about 14 off the dribble. And that he looked uncertain whether to shoot or pass and seemed to always choose wrong.
Whatever funk he's in is very very funky. Really hope he snaps out of it soon.

I'm not sure if he's in a funk or just isn't very good yet? He's clearly trying hard.
I wish we'd stop playing small ball. Play dedric with Lightfoot or KJ and get McCormack out there. You can't play small ball effectively without outside shooting and we're severely lacking.
I think Self is doing a great job with this team (even if I wish we'd be playing 2 bigs). I think Self's value is magnified when the team isn't quite at the level we are used to....which is hilarious to say because we are #1 in the country and undefeated.

Yeah, I'm not buying the argument that we're better playing small. We clearly aren't. Too many games we've struggled against mediocre teams and then gone big and pulled away because we dominate the other team. Our strength is our size and we need to play to that.
I know everyone else is going small, but that's part of why it works. No one else has two guys plus the reserves needed to check Dok, Lawson, McCormack, and Mitch. When we play small we're just doing the other team a favor by playing the way they want to play.

I’m more of a fan of pushing teams around, wearing players out, and creating outside space by loading down low. We have a roster ready to bully and intimidate. A team as small as S Dakota had to send help with us running two bigs. Then all of a sudden Charlie Moore has the gaping wide open shooting from distance.

Every scheme/lineup, etc. is immediately fixed with a certain player playing like he’s capable. It’s coming.
