On a practical level, I think I could smoke something just fine without issue.

But the fire ban is still a “stage 2” ban, which specifically prohibits charcoal grills, among other things.

And like I said, while it would prob be fine, I just don’t wanna be that guy.

Some guy in my county went all “BUT MAH RIGHTS” about the ban, and had a bunch of slash piles burning on his ranch. Now he’s facing like 12 counts of felony arson

I usually smoke the turkey but this year it’s just me and blow up ( only eats seafood ) thanks to COVID. It’s going to be 37 and raining out—so it’s traditional oven.

12 lb turkey to myself.
What a sad year.

12 lb turkey was the smallest I could find in 3 different stores. Everything else was 16 to 18. Just 3 here this year.

Turkey stock is made, that's about as far as I've got.

I ordered my turkey from Fareway/Mcgonigles. Already cooked and sliced, just reheat in a pan. Sad. Just myself and my parents. My mom didn't want to mess with cooking one, so I just bought one already prepared.

I think the smaller birds sold out more quickly. Not many to be found here.

Got a 6 pound chicken!

Not sure about anything about it yet. Prob gonna bake/roast rather than smoke. Might wrap in bacon. Or stuff butter under the skin. Or both.

The only thing I do know is, Beaver don’t get none.

That's a pretty big chicken. Chicken and dumplings may be a better option.

My current client is a turkey farmer. They sent a bunch of our team each a fresh turkey. We weighed it at 16.3lbs... Arrived frozen via UPS. Pretty cool. I don’t think we’ve ever cooked a turkey this big.

Dangit bro don’t ruin this for me!

While I don’t doubt you, I also want a whole bird to carve for thanksgiving. It’ll be fun, and it was only 99 cents a pound, so even if it’s completely inedible, just getting to carve will be worth the 6 bucks.

Besides, what could possibly be inedible after being covered in bacon and or butter? I think it’s gonna be delicious. Plus, between the holiday and game day and game day holiday and first game of the season and number 1 matchup, imma put down like 3 buckets of coorses before I eat either way.

And either way I still have beav’s mac and cheese as a backup.
