I guarantee he has some recruits follow him to KU from Tech.

Les is killing it in terms of staff. Tech’s top recruiter. Has experience, which no offense to juice Johnson but he never was a full time WR coach until this year.

Things are achanging folks. Buckle up and enjoy the ride.

Let’s see what Lindsay can do with the Juco kid. If nothing more he is depth.

Les isn’t playing around. The tide is turning and I like where KU Football is headed.

and in a sense, a successful turnaround would be something the whole staff would be able to hang their hats on...not just Miles

Football scoop saying that Jimmy Brumbaugh to join Les Miles as Kansas D-line coach. Last 2 seasons at Maryland.

I thought maybe he might grab the DL coach at Texas Tech not that TTU had the best DL on the Big12 but they have a couple of committed DL that are not as sure now. He is from Austin and had a good knowledge of Texas high school coaches.

This opens up the east coast, and more SEC country.

I like that we're not solely focused on Texas.

Just so long as he is completely clear of the UMD scandal.

Another good hire. Former Co-DC at Maryland. Anytime you can get a guy who has had either Co-DC or DC in a former job for a position coach, that's a good hire.

I'm thinking more and more Hull will be the RB coach. Wonder if there will be any room for Bill Miller on the staff as LB or whatnot.

Is it weird to say I'm a little more excited about the football team than the basketball team right now? Don't get me wrong, I'll be full on basketball come conference play, but right now, it's kind of blah for them and KU is all about new recruits and new hires. Gets my interest more right now.

Exactly. Here it is December, on a KUFB message board, and we aren't talking about the upcoming disaster season...snickers bars...or how much gravy poured out of Charlie Weiss when he cut himself shaving!

Miles and staff have done more in recruiting in the past couple of weeks than Bowen and staff did in the last year. Enjoying the ride.

Miles getting guys that are in a coaching transition, and fans of those teams want those guys to stay. Really nice. People want to work with him. Fun to watch.

Isn't Drake the Louisiana guy?

If so, I hope that rumor is true, but let's remember that Jon Kirby from the Slant reported that Jeff Long was interviewing DJ Durkin.

I think what he mainly reported was that Durkin reached out to Long, and they talked but that's all was reported. Don't think a formal interview was mentioned.

But yes, Drake has been a coach at Tulane, Nicholls, Memphis and then CU. He's got connections in the south. Furthest west he had been before he got to CU was for the interview at CU. He'll kill it in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi and all those other states recruiting.

Drake is a young guy who works his ass off recruiting, on the sidelines and during practice. Only in his mid 30's I believe.

I do think that Miles wants to attack the Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas areas really hard. Will find other guys here and there like the JUCO QB from Arizona and whatnot, but the bulk of his players will come from those areas. And I am all for that.
