This team, without Udoka, doesn't have an overwhelming favorite player to cheer for.
And that's coming from one of the greater Vick fans on here.

There's a LOT of work needed before any semblance of a NCAA tourney team.
And Self has a shit load of other stuff to handle on top of a raw squad with injuries.

I was impressed by Charlie Moore’s first three minutes.

This team doesn’t need Vick sitting on the bench in trouble.

I like that this team can find a way to win.
I don't like that they have to.

And we have beaten Tennessee and Marquette.
I’m just searching for halves that I see a team put together and I don’t see that quite yet.

And with 16 and 17, who were not as “highly” rated, those halves had already been crystal clear.

But I guess some people here think we are better off without Udoka.

Dotson

I like him a lot.
He’s not going to take over a lot of games this season.

He was injured in practice yesterday.

And Vick had a real real bad Thursday. Leave it at that.

I don't know about that. He doesn't seem to shoot as well as Graham or Mason but he has defense and some explosiveness when he drives to the rim. As his experience continues to grow I think him finishing at the rim will get better. Might be next year before his 3 starts falling more. But the kids is really good and I think he will be the team MVP at the end of the year.

Norm said Dotson has never been a shooter because he’s beaten opponents with speed his whole career. When he does, I can’t imagine the trouble.

He saves 2-3 possesions a game solely with his superb quickness and nose for the ball and ability to change directionon a dime while maintainging control. Did it tonight at a critical moment when garrett got stuck and lofted a pass to noone in the middle of 3 nmsu defenders

Honestly, I think we are over achieving. I don't care what our preseason ranking was. From a pure talent standpoint this isn't 1 of our best teams of the Self era. We are still figuring out how to play together. But we are pretty freaking good at defense and showing poise down the stretch, which are huge factors in winning close games.

I'm impressed with our coaching. They've found a way to lead this team to some close victories over tough opponents.

Going to be a stressful year, but a fun year...
