Good idea Lonestar.

The staff was the biggest thing that Miles had to get right, and he's doing that so far. You can see that in just the recruiting aspect alone right now. 3 commitments in 3 days. More possibly on the way.

I do think that Kansas has a good shot right now to get that LB from New Orleans. He's a stud, and LSU fans bashed him so hard for visiting Kansas that he had to put out a statement asking for them to basically back off.

Man, I hope some of the rumblings on these 4 star kids pans out and we land them. KU is in desperate need of an injection of high end talent. Would be great to keep the buzz of the hiring going.

Noticed that some LSU fans are worried we're stealing their recruits. A few think we might get Starks to flip.

It's been a busy week for KU football, and the weekend figures to get only more cluttered, as a number of talented players from the high school and JUCO ranks take visits to the University of Kansas.

Here's what the staff has been up to over the last week:

Flipping commits?

Gavin Potter, a three-star linebacker from Oklahoma state-champion Broken Arrow, has been committed to K-State since late October, but the Jayhawks have quickly gotten into his recruitment since Les Miles took office.

Potter reported a KU offer back on Dec. 2. Less than two weeks later, he received a visit from Miles and defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot.

Eliot is currently the No. 95-ranked outside linebacker in the country per the 247Sports Composite and the No. 14-ranked player in the state of Oklahoma. 247Sports' recruiting expert Gabe Brooks noted he has necessary athleticism and the ability to play in space that should help him in the Big 12 conference.

Here are some highlights of Potter.

Rivals is also reporting that K-State commit and three-star JUCO safety Khalil McClain will be on campus for KU this weekend.

Weekend visits

It is expected to be a full weekend of visits for the KU staff, and that has already started. Caleb Sampson, a JUCO defensive end in the class of 2019, was on campus Thursday, he told 247Sports, and Valerian Agbaw, a three-star athlete from Louisiana, was slated to come up Friday.

Da'Jon Terry, a defensive end from Mississippi, was slated for a visit on Friday, as were three-star JUCO wideout Reggie Todd and three-star JUCO cornerback Dontye Carriere-Williams.

Other Power Five schools in on the latter two include Indiana, Vanderbilt, Minnesota and Louisville. Rivals also reported that Raymond Vohasek, a three-star JUCO defensive end (Top247) will take a visit to KU this weekend.

Other offers:

The KU football staff has been extremely active in extending offers to a number of talented prospects in the upcoming classes. We'll have a story up Sunday looking at some potential former Texas Tech commits to keep an eye on (the Jayhawks hired Tech's WR coach to their own staff), but here are a list of players who reported KU offers this past week:

Dec. 9

Chandler Morris — No. 712-ranked HS prospect, No. 25-ranked dual-threat QB (2020)

Morris is a three-star recruit with five Crystal Ball picks to Arkansas. He was recruited to Auburn by Chip Lindsey, who is now KU's O.C.

Others in on his recruitment include Clemson, Colorado and Oklahoma.

Ezra Naylor — No. 270-ranked JUCO prospect, No. 27-ranked WR (Top247, 2019)

Naylor is from Georgia, an area KU has started to target more and more in recruiting. He has offers from KU, Bowling Green, Stony Brook and Troy, and is a two-star prospect per the 247Sports staff.

Soni Fonua — NR, 6-4, 264-pound DL (2019)

Fonua's name arrived to the KU staff at least in part because Thomas MacVittie, who committed to KU earlier in the week, passed it along, but the Jayhawks liked what they saw.

(MacVittie, by the way, said "I just said the name, your work ethic and dedication did the rest" in a tweet he sent to Fonua.)

Fonua has reported offers and interest from Arizona, UCF and Hawaii.

Dec. 10

Keeyon Stewart — No. 1,492-ranked HS prospect, No. 149-ranked CB (2019)

Out of Houston, the three-star cornerback has drawn interest from in-state schools like Texas Tech (three Crystal Ball picks) and Houston (one Crystal Ball pick). He was committed to Texas Tech but decommitted with the staff change.

He has received a visit from the new staff at Tech.

Brock Vandagriff — No. 89-ranked HS prospect, No. 5-ranked pro-style QB (2021)

A name to remember down the line, Vandagriff is a four-star quarterback in Georgia. He already has one Crystal Ball pick to the Bulldogs, and he has offers from Auburn, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, among others.

Lindsey was recruiting him to Auburn and will now try to do the same at KU.

Jerrod Means — No. 1,820-ranked HS prospect, No. 213-ranked wide receiver (2019)

The Jayhawks continued to look into Georgia in offering Means, a three-star wideout from Hampton. Means has a long list of offers, including from North Carolina, Tennessee, UNLV and Virginia, among many others.

He was previously committed to North Carolina but decommitted in November.

Dec. 11

Eugene Minter — No. 75-ranked JUCO prospect, No. 10-ranked WR (2019)

Minter is a three-star wideout who is currently committed to Arkansas State. That commitment came on Nov. 26, before the Jayhawks offered.

Da'Jon Terry — NR, 6-4, 320-pound DT (2019)

Terry is from Mississippi and has tons of local interest, with offers to both North and South Alabama, Mississippi Valley State and Jackson State.

He was slated to take a visit to KU this weekend.

Dec. 14

Justin Ford — NR, 6-2, 175-pound CB

Currently committed to UNLV, Ford reported an offer from the Jayhawks on Friday. The Golden West JUCO corner recently took a visit to UNLV and had one slated for New Mexico on Friday.

We'll see if he makes his way to campus in the next few days, as signing day approaches.

Keith Miller — No. 711-ranked prospect, No. 129-ranked WR (2020)

Miller was committed to Texas Tech but decommitted with the staff change. He is being recruited to KU by Emmett Jones, who previously coached wide receivers at Tech. He is a three-star prospect by both the Top247 and 247Sports Composite.

With the commitments from Naylor and Parchment, KU’s 2019 recruiting class grew to six, as the receiving duo joined juco QB Thomas MacVittie and three high school prospects — defensive back Jayden Russell, running back Cole Mueller and TE Mason Fairchild.

The 2019 class will be 15 or 16 players.

Apparently Parchment is a stud. An anonymous P5 assistant said he could easily play on Sunday’s.

Les has been killing it lately.
