Together as well as seperately.
The Woody Guthrie Center is next to my Tulsa office and around the corner from Cain's Ballroom. If you go in the Guthrie Center, they have a lot of Guthrie's lyrics including many from the Mermaid Avenue project on display. They are hand written in crazy script and some are illustrated. There is a good documentary about the making of the two Mermaid Avenue cds.

Nice.
Another good documentary about music is The New Basement Tapes.

Basically, Bob Dylan wrote dozens of songs while he was healing from his horrific motorcycle crash.

The lyrics were obtained, and T-Bone Burnett gathered up some amazing talent to turn the lyrics into songs.

Jim James (My Morning Jacket), Elvis Costello, Marcus Mumford, Taylor Goldsmith (Dawes), Rhiannon Giddens (Carolina Chocolate Drops), and (for some reason) Johnny Depp.

Amazing music, and on the album, a couple of different versions of the same lyrics.

It was interesting to see the different personalities and styles show up as they worked toward the finished product.

Some cool references to Kansas City too.

You might want to thank Missouri for that.

MTV produced some absolute crap.
MTV produced some absolute gold.

Here is what I feel is some gold in the form of "Unplugged".

I have picked 2 or 3 songs from each band. My suggestion is you use headphones for sound quality.

Alice In Chains

Nirvana

Stone Temple Pilots

Crosby Stills Nash

This isn't "Unplugged" and my guess is no one on here likes the band but I have met Brandon and he was one of the nicest most genuine musicians I have encountered - so I am a fan of him/his.

I mentioned on either here or one of the other sites that my cousin hired a band called Camp Freddy to play at his house.
Original members were Dave Navarro and Billy Morrison on guitar, Donovan Leitch on vocals, Chris Chaney on bass, and Matt Sorum on drums. Their gimmick was that they would have "guests" perform with them. You wouldn't know who would come out and play/sing with them until the people popped up on stage.
People ranging from Jerry Cantrell, Courtney Love, Tom Morello, Rick Nielsen, Billy Idol, Lemmy, Slash, Ozzy, Steven Tyler, etc.. etc., etc.
Not too sure why but they changed their name to Royal Machines when Mark McGrath joined them.
Definitely one of the most fun bands to see/hear and some absolute classic stuff.

I have selected 10 random songs/performances - a couple of which I was in attendance......

Brandon Boyd and Tom Morello - Mountain Song.

Scott Weiland, Slash, Rick Nielsen - Surrender.

Courtney Love - Sympathy for the Devil

Zakk Wylde - Man In The Box

Corey Taylor, Jerry Cantrell, Travis Barker - Would

Juliette Lewis - Ain't Talking About Love

Andrew Wyatt - Whole Lotta Love

Brandon Boyd and Billy Duffy - Good Times Bad Times

Steven Tyler - Sweet Emotion

Wonderwall
