The prevailing argument will be bUT thERE wErE aLwaYs DeScREPaNCieS but things like this ( that will only continue to grow ) just crush the chances of smaller schools winning a recruiting battle. It’s not just boosters funneling into collectives, it’s branded events that invite only the big names.

Like if there was a four game tournament in the MLB that only included the Yankees, Astros, Dodgers and Mets.

It’s great ( I guess if you like your Hunter Dickinsons ) for Kansas bc they’ll have no issues getting into games like these.

yea? they had 2 Million dollar in season tournaments before? Was 2pa...oh sorry. .was Birdie there?

this shit is out of hand and is quickly trending toward killing TDub as a fan, its spiraling and I'm drifting further and further away.

I'm trying, dont celebrate my departure yet, I won't go easily, not after 40+ years of love, but boy this stuff sure makes me feel like I shouldn't give a shit. Money, it's all that matters, I guess..

If I had that approach to life, I'm guessing my life would be richer in some ways and much much poorer in others.

this whole thing is depressing to me.

diatribe over, carry on

i wouldn’t really know (nor really care) about these added financial incentives if they weren’t posted here

is it going to result in KU playing more marquee matchups in the noncon? yes?

sweet…ROCK CHALK!
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

how is that relevant? They are, by definition, professionals.

Just curious if they are trying to copycat the NBA.

We'll see how this shakes out when HCBS says "So I’m...ummm...saying to myself...ummm...maybe this doesn’t...ummm...work anymore."

I'm sure at least half will go to actual players. The rest? Administrative expenses.

The collective thing is temporary. It will be the fax machine or pager of this transition.

“Universities are funny. Like what if we took a medieval institution for training priests and combined it with a hedge fund, sports franchise, and resort for teens…oh and it’s also the place we research everything about our entire civilization”

I hate to admit it, especially here, but I think Cal is a great college coach.
