I got a 10 dollar gift card to Dunkin Donuts ( soon to be called simply Dunkin - there's a half joke in there somewhere ) at the Yarmouth Clam Festival this summer.

I went in to get an iced coffee and some donut holes/munchkins to share with the people who sit in my area.

12 munchkins were 1.99.
25 munchkins were 5.99.

Something is wrong with those prices but i'm not sure if the regular Dunkin Donuts customer realizes that.

I kinda sounded like Gutter with that post.

So ordering two 12 munchkins (24) separate would be $3.98. That’s some shit.

Good call. Donut holes are really good. Always enjoy them when my kids don't finish them. Reminded of how good they are, but then never get them again.

Ok, so Gutter being Gutter, my son would have asked for 49 Munchkins and then bitched about how much they charged him - no matter what they charged him.
At least they don't put cheese on them - BUT.........

Last night my son was at Mity Nice and ordered a hamburger with ketchup, onion, and pickle/s only. You guessed it! They put cheese on the burger. Not only that but they put mayo on it and did NOT put onions on it. My son was surprisingly somewhat calm about it. Then...... The brought out a burger but it had mayo and no onions. Now my son lost his shit and said. "COME ON - KETCHUP, ONIONS, AND PICKLES ONLY - NO MAYO"! Well, the 3rd time they brought out a burger with onions but this one ALSO had MAYO on it. My son was about to suffer a heart attack so he just looked at the server and said, "FUCK IT - I'll just scrape off the mayo" - and he did.
End of story.

Oops! I forgot to say the first time my son would have just scraped off the cheese and mayo and then asked for onions but they took it away too quickly fully realizing they fucked up and had put cheese on it - not realizing they had also put mayo on it and didn't put onions on it.

Sorry for the interruption. Back to donuts.

I think the donut hole has an ideal surface to volume ratio. You get more glaze (or whatever topping) per unit of bread.

I've brought them in to work, the best part is no one leaves a half a donut hole behind.

sooo

have we discussed English muffins?

they’re pretty much designed to be served in halves, right?

I'm not a big fan. I tend to only eat them as the bread on an breakfast sandwich, in which case I eat the entire thing.

Like most English things, it's pretty bland.

I get it Gutter's mom. I am a no condiments person. No mayo, no mustard, no ketchup, no relish, no pickles, no onions, no salsa or hot sauce, no sour cream, no pepper, no sugar in hot beverages. Restaurants always put at least one of the above on my food even when I purposefully say the items I don't want them to put in it. It then becomes a hassle because I have to either send it back or say forget about it and scrape away what I don't want on it.

I like to toast them and then make them a warm English muffin PB&J.

Thomas brand english muffins - Lite Multi-Grain. Toasted, then with butter/peanut butter. Eat 'em hot - best nooks and crannies
