Drove through Winstead's for lunch today thanks to this thread. Hope it survives--still a pretty good greasy burger.
Are the onion slices still thicker than the burger patty?

I do kinda like them, they're a KC institution if there ever was one.

The full slice of onion is the best part, imo. Still going strong with it.

The 50/50 left a lot to be desired.

Where are the top 3 burgers in KC?
In Lawrence?

Lawrence for me:
1. Burger Stand
2. Merchants
3. Dempseys

Used to be Molly McGees.

Westport Flea Market always had really good burgers. P. Ott's were pretty good as well.

Flea Market has sadly kind of gone downhill. And P. Ott's has sadly closed.

Oddly, I don't think anyone makes a better burger than Michael Corvino.

But, this seems to be more about burger joints and Tay's and Max's are pretty good. And, I will always include Town Topic.

John's Big Deck is a sentimental favorite. Dive bar burgers and tots are so, so high on my list.

Don't live in new haven anymore, but they had some great burger places:

1. Louis lunch ( because it invented the hamburger)
2. Prime 16
3. Box 63
I only came to kick some ass...

Rock the fucking house and kick some ass.

Winstead's was always one of my favorites and a KC institute, but I think there is only one left in the KC metro. Seems new owner has ran them into the ground.

Johnny's has pretty good burgers as well.

man, how'd he run it into the ground?

I feel like diner burgers and milkshakes should be among the most foolproof restaurant concepts, especially so if you purchased it as existing cash flows.

I had a burger at the midtown Q39, it was outstanding.

KC is now home to the T-Mobile Center. Which will not be confused with the already existing T-Mobile Arena, because that’s way different.
