I think if it is for sure done, then not saying so is a pretty big mistake to leave it open ended or suggest it's temporary.

I support protecting the player in a situation like this. And I think giving it finality, if that's indeed the case, would be better for him as well as the team.
Ah, the open-ended part. That's a good point, and given all of the assumptions about Bill not liking Vick, there's still the fact that he does seem to have a soft spot for him--lots of coaches would have given up long ago. Because of that, I certainly think the possibility is there that Bill hasn't made a final decision.

I still personally would be pretty surprised if he came back.
Does Vick still get a NC ring?
Yes.

Right now, we're still in the end of the shit part of the season. When I return to this board at the beginning of March, I expect to see a bunch of comments congratulating Bill on another amazing conference championship. I've seen Bill do it with teams like the 2009 squad (which was way worse than this team), and also with the 2006 team, which was very rocky for most of the season.

Of course.

The timing and subject player do make it suspect. That along with Bill's "indefinitely" timeline, it's not a jump to speculate that Vick needs Memphis more right right now than Memphis needs Vick.
Vick's mom posting on twitter that she's OK but moving slow makes me think she had some sort of medical procedure and needed Vick to come home, help out and watch his own kids that she normally watches. If thats the case then its a safe bet that he will be back when she is back up and running.

We'll see. They have three seniors who have been through this so they are gonna be tough. And they have faced several shorthanded teams so theyve had some luck on their side too. Hopefully that averages out and their suspect offense costs them a game soon.

I just knew we would win tonight. TCU is a very good team, probably underrated, but you just know our team would start clicking about now.

I wasn't so sure about the win the way we closed out regulation.
